The stuff that I've seen on the internet is straight fucking garbage. Even compared to previous BioWare games I've never looked at a conversation and thought, "man, this is really stilted" the way I'm seeing the stuff in Andromeda. The basic animation transitions are occasionally non-existent and their definition of emotions seems to be "character raises eyebrows and change shape of mouth". Hell, they managed to do perfectly fine with Inquisition so unless they had a completely different C-team (from what I'm reading may be the case), it can't even be their experience with Frostbite.
It doesn't help that the human character models look
super flat. It was the same in Inquisition except Inquisition had vastly better lighting and didn't zoom up on people's faces a whole ton.
The first 20 minutes just kind of boggles my mind, really. Gamble says it gets heaps better after the opening, but even down to the narrative, the basic animations and the character quality, why would they make that part shoddy, especially in light of them having an Early Access program and basing everyone's first impressions on it?
Also, the line "my face is tired from dealing with everything" has to be some sort of ultra-meta inside joke
