(On my second try) I had to leave Tali behind because I didn't have her loyalty, but taking Jack and Kasumi left behind enough tanks to keep her alive.

Yep. Leaving two tanks behind is usually enough to save everybody (providing they are mostly all loyal, and most of your team is alive.)

Also, I'm going to post this for the likes of Force and other newcomers. I know the rest of us may have seen/heard it TWO MILLION TIMES. But I love it everytime. Enjoy guys.

In my Insanity playthrough the first time I took Grunt and Garrus with me and Mordin ended up dying. Went back and redid the whole last mission, took Miranda and Jack instead and everyone survived.

I usually take Tali and Jack for the last bit, and send Mordin off to escort the crew. It's TECHNICALLY the safest thing to do, though it doesn't guarantee anything based solely on that.

Taking Kasumi and Jack sucked, honestly, they died so many times, used every last medi-gel I had. But it allowed me to save everyone, so whatever I guess.

I took Kasu and Gar-Gar with me for the last battle and everyone did just fine.

I had Miri hold the line and she was all 'shepard im dying '

and i was like 'aw that sucks dude '

and then she was like 'lol jk im pretty much okay'

I took Thane and Jack.

Jack died about four times, but I had plenty of medigel, so that was okay.

Thane did not die at all.

So I had everyone else (except Mordin, whose singing salarian ass I sent back to the Normandy) hold the line. Yaaaay loyalties and no one died :3

I do not use Medi-gel in the second game. The only time i've really used it are on the Praetorian fights when I was playing that one play as an Infiltrator, and I needed them alive to distract it while I cloaked.

That's it.

Otherwise they can stay down for all I care.

I thought it was the only one where they would be helpful, just because they'd be a distraction. But then that is still only really helpful against the Praetorian, because you can get it moving away from you.

Yeah I think the only fights I really used it against was the Praetorian and the YMIR mechs when there was more than 1 at a time, just so they'd distract them like you said.

I used it on the final battle because I assumed that if I didn't, they'd permadie ;.;

I made Jacob go back to the ship with the abducted crew.
Garrus in charge of team two (both instances)
Legion to do the hacking.
Samara for the biotic barrier.
Then for my final team used Tali & Kasumi.

Morinth - barrier

I don't remember who I used in my party, though, other than Jack/Thane for the final battle, Jack/someone for the barrier bit, and Morinth/someone for the doors bit.

which btw, having Morinth use Dominate then detonating it when they're nearly dead is lol

Took Jack and Miranda with me for every section, because they are my fave combo to work with as an Infiltrator.

Edit: Also started a new playthrough of ME1 as a Renegade Vanguard and JFC how did I ever manage to use this godawful cover system.

Yeah, Zaeed is DLC, and without him, Garrus alone was probably not enough.

Ooooooh, if you don't have the DLC then that makes a LOT more sense.

Except I think Zaeed was free ;.;

I have the PS3 'complete' version, but all the DLC isn't on the disc you have to download it (it's a blu-ray there is space on it! *shakes fist* ).
And for various reasons I'm not going into my PS3 isn't connected to the internet, so no Zaeed & no interactive comic to explain the back story.
