Michael Bay's TMNT film...s

I mostly find this funny since Megan Fox called Michael Bay Hitler. There's absolutely no chance I'll see this movie since is directed by Michael Bay so no stupid news that comes out of it surprises me.

Small reminder that Michael Bay is PRODUCING and NOT DIRECTING this.

I guess I just hate how all his characters are basically caricatures of the intended characters, because they insist on their primary qualities so heavily, it treats the audience like they're idiots. Case in point: Transformers. It's like all of Shia Labeouf's character direction ended with, "Get it!? 'Cause you're goofy!" just like Megan Fox's ended with, "Get it!? 'Cause you're hot!" It pretty much kills the key qualities of the character because it's continually forcibly insisting on it the entire time.

This REALLY makes me nervous, because all four of the brothers has a character quality like that, and if they insist upon it in the film in the same way that Transformers did with its characters (which got WAY bad in Transformers 2), it feels like it just murders any real developments that those characters might have. Megan Fox coming into the film makes me nervous that this might happen again, but WHO KNOWS. MAAAYYYYYBBBEEE she came back because the film ISN'T going to make her character like that. Only time will tell.

Regardless, this is worth reading: http://www.comicvine.com/news/why-i-disagree-with-the-massive-outcry-over-ninja-turtles/146101/

Well, at least Kevin Eastman likes how the TURTLES are turning out: http://www.digitalspy.com/british-t...tles-kevin-eastman-the-fans-blow-my-mind.html

I suppose it could still turn out okay, Bay is only producing in this case, and Bay produced films don't tend to be has bad as directed ones. Still, I think I'll remain skeptically neutral for the time being.

Interesting that Eastman likes the current 2012 show the best of the three animated series, I could've sworn he originally stated that the 2003 was his personal favorite, perhaps that was Laird.

If Megan cut her hair to like chin-length, she would actually pass for April pretty good, imo. What we really want to know is... who is cast as Irma? =p.

I'm sorry, X. I didn't realize you hated boobies. :monster:

I love me some boobies, but I fail to see how this furthers anything in making a good Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. April's always been cute, but I think that the only thing that we've seen from the film is related to apparently oversexualizing April O'Neil, (and making her look exactly like Megan Fox with a yellow jacket).

It's just like finding out that the actors doing motion capture for a film, where you LITERALLY CANNOT SEE THEM... aren't martial artists. It's just that everything aside form some blanket enthusiasm of those directly involved (who are a part of the project and want it to do well), there's pretty much no good press on what's been happening in any sort of specific capacity.

The point I guess I'm trying to make is that I genuinely WANT a live-action TMNT film again. I just don't want to see TMNT become the next Transformers trilogy, where they keep making them, and they're just competent enough at the box office to make another one, but so vapid that they're pretty much universally considered a missed opportunity.

tl;dr - I can go watch Jennifer's Body as much as I want, but that's not what I'd pay to see a live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie for. When you're making a TMNT film, and all you have is Megan Fox playing the same role she did in Transformers, and NOTHING ABOUT THE TURTLES THEMSELVES, as optimistic as I am, I'm going to basically talk shit until this gives me a reason to believe that it SHOULD be Megan Fox's titties bouncing around in a TMNT film instead of some other vapid summer popcorn flick.

At least Micheal Bay is willing to make fun of himself.

I got a chuckle out of that mostly because it reminded me of this:

I'm just trying to make myself feel better about all this. :P

I hope this movie is good, though. I do feel like the fixation on Bay as a producer is overshadowing everything else. Does anyone even know the name of the director? Because I don't.

All I can say at least we have the new TMNT series on currently.I can say its really been getting good and finding a way to distinguish it self from the 80's and 00's series.I like that the new TMNT series Splinter has a very snarky sense of humour.

Aw hell, William Fitchner is awesome. I can see him being intimidating enough, but I'm a bit curious about how he'd portray the Shredder or some other character. Either way, this brings me some happiness, because I dig the idea of him getting an awesome role (he made Drive Angry utterly amazing).
