the fallacy here is the idea that somehow everyone else on the forums would definitely gang up on him/her and persecute them for life because something incriminating was leaked

And if there is a separate section where our mods go to trash talk members as they please, it won't show up in the report, right? And we'd definitely have to see that somehow.

I just wanna say that if it is really really late for most people we should be taking a time out for a couple of hours. Because right now the majority of people are being irritable or at least seem to be irritable, and it's really not conducive to the way this discussion is being carried out.

And no, if we're not being civil shit will not be settled.

Besides, I think some significant people involved in this issue are probably asleep by now. You know, like regular human beings. Hell, I'm trying to follow this entire thread and it's barely 6 pm here in Sydney. And I'm feeling really fatigued by reading this discussion.

I don't think anyone's insinuating a set of rules where someone should or shouldn't be offended by something. It's more to do with the fact that there is a correlation between who makes the offending post and the sort of relationship between the offender and the offend...ee is that even a word

I don't doubt for a second that Rishi was genuinely offended by what Ryu had said (as would be in many other instances between Ryu and whoever reported him in earlier instances), but at the same time I think we're more likely to let things slide if the person making this joke in bad taste was a more intimate friend.

Look, in order for this discussion to move forward, we need this report situation released publicly, and that isn't going to happen without Road getting approval by a bunch of people. And I'm fairly certain some of them aren't available at this moment in time. So until then, this argument is going nowhere.
