Yeah, WacDonalds is crap. I'm with you on that. I can't believe some of them still defend that interview even after CoLW came out >_<

But the reason for their rules is because they want a place to enjoy their pairing in peace. It's exactly as you said. They can't get that anywhere else. Clotis have a forum too but we can pretty much go anywhere we want cause we're awesome. They might go a bit overboard, but I don't see anything wrong with what they're doing.

What I object to is people constantly coming in solely to harp about how much the Clerii don't care about the LTD (cause they're cool and laid back and have lives) and how much of a pointless thread this always is and lolyouguysaresofunnyandpatheticteehee!

Meanwhile, said Clerii are still copy+pasting and discussing issues raised here and elsewhere, the only difference being that they do so in their "safe" places and various locked subforums, and have the added bonus of blatant hypocrisy.

Seriously though, I'll never understand how people can be so desperate to show how right and canonically-correct their pairing is they have to go somewhere that is clearly dedicated to another ship and preach from their little pulpits and wave their Ultimania bibles.

And while I agree with Tea - fuck what everyone else thinks (YUFFENTINE OTP) - it can get really tiresome when a place that's supposed to be a fun hangout to discuss your blasphemous non-canon pairing gets constantly invaded by canon crusaders.

Look, I don't know the story (obviously) and frankly, I'm not that interested in learning it either. This whole troll situation you are describing is sad and yes, I can understand why and how there is so much bad blood within the fandom from both Clerith and Cloti, but it doesn't make it any less dumb, liking/disliking a character or a couple.

I've done that mistake in other fandoms, and now that I look back, I can see and say that I was an idiot for letting other people's opinions and behaviour influence my tastes. Not to mention that I lost lots of good stuff because I had turned by back.

EDIT: While I am not familiar with the Clerith forums (there are a lot of them, aren't they?), I've seen boards having threads like "Proof against Cloti" and "Proof for Clerith" in the canonical aspect and I went "WTF?". (I love Fack and if there's a forum dedicated to it, I'd join in a heartbeat, but if I ever see a thread like "Proof for Fack", I'd facepalm and abandon the boards.)

I let it be though, simply because... really if there are people who believe it so strongly, they are not going to change their minds, no matter what the creators themselves say. I've been in a ship that was sank by canon (pardon the pun), and I know that seeing what you invested into being treated like that hurts, dammit I KNOW that, but in the end, I got over it, I said "Screw this!", I continue to love the couple and that's that. I believe that whining is as annoying as being smug and rubbing this "victory" (I'm using the term very loosely, and for lack of a better term) on the face of others.

it's nice when canon validates your ship and all, but gloating over how right you are and how the author clearly only saw your pairing gets completely asinine. when you talk about canon in a debate forum, that's fine. when you talk about how them bitches from a forum completely dedicated to a single pairing are totally ignoring canon and how wrong they are, it gets pathetic.

a lot of people (myself included) ship pairs that are in no way canon. it would annoy me just as much as someone who shipped Yuuri and Wolfram from Kyou Kara Maou came to my Conrad and Yuuri forum and started spouting off how it's clearly not canon, yadda yadda, ans it does when people complain about a pairing forum shipping a pairing.
