Despite the fact that she's shady as fuck about Project Leda, I think that she's pretty much the most trustworthy person there, because she clearly has ALWAYS put Kira first - again, because like with Delphine, I think that she knows what Kira means (she STRONGLY suggests that in episode 2 of the first season). She's covering about it with Sarah, because there's a way she doesn't want to be involved with what's happening. I think she's just trying to get away from it all, rather than needing to confront it, and this episode is kinda the turning point for her. I can't fucking wait to see where she ends up next.

Man, they've split everyone's stories apart almost completely by this episode, and I have no ides how they'll be crossing over again.

Well, you could say, "Fuck." about the early reviewer news that is calling Episode 3, "child's play" compared to episode 4…

So there's THAT to look forward to…

The previews of the episode did have me looking massively forward to it... :monster:

That minister guy is so creepy I can't even. Helena has the emotional maturity of a child (albeit a very dangerous, unstable one) and he wants to impregnate her? Wtf. Not to mention that she's barely conscious through the entire episode.

That was a pretty stressful episode.

Where was Rachel Duncan, though. We didn't even get to see her when Daniel (that's the guy's name who was after Kira, right?) made his call. Paul has been absent for the last two episodes, but I don't really care about Paul. :monster:

Maybe I'm being overly paranoid, but I still don't know how I feel about Delphine. I get that it's most likely that she really does care about Cosima and just wants to find a cure; she didn't turn Sarah over at the party, and I don't really see how her telling Cosima the ID number and helping her find out about the patent could benefit Leekie. But the scene when she and Cosima were watching the video was kind of weird - Cosima says that she is, not was, her monitor and Delphine doesn't correct her or anything. Does Cosima need a monitor now that she's working at Dyad - for now their interests align, at least regarding the disease? (They didn't tell Alison that Donnie was her monitor after she signed, but I assume this is because they want to know when she's in contact with Sarah?) Was Delphine told to show Cosima the videos or did she just do it on her own? The show hasn't addressed whatever was going on between Leekie and Delphine from season 1 yet, so I'm wondering what's gonna happen with that.

Really hope Art rescues Helena from the Prolethians (or Helena goes full psycho and rescues herself, but that doesn't seem as likely :( ). Why are they called the Prolethians, anyway? It being a reference to Lethe, oblivion/forgetfulness, doesn't seem to make much sense.

I'm kind of disappointed that suburban Angie doesn't seem like it'll be a thing. Poor Alison, though. :(

Rachel & Paul are in Taiwan for that business thing mentioned in the other episode.

I'm pretty sure that Delphine is trying to make Cosima as hardcore as possible, because she needs to be in 100% fighting mode if she's gonna survive her illness. I'm still of the opinion that she will do whatever it takes to help Cosima, regardless of how she or the Dyad feel about it.

Also, I'm nearly 100% sure that it's gonna come down to Sarah's DNA being instrumental in for the cure which will cause a hundred miles of issues for our little clone club.

Everything.

EVERYTHING.

Also, Jordan Gavaris (Felix) live tweeted the episode and it was beautiful.

HOLY. FUCKING. SHIT.

• So Cal is awesome.
• God bless Art for being a badass and giving enough space for Helena to get away, despite the fact that he was probably confused as all fuck.
• This shit with Mrs. S is intense, because it's getting WAY deep into the history of everything and is the stuff that you literally don't want anyone but her uncovering right now.
• That razor blade cut Sarah got is in the same place as the "mountain biking scar" that Beth had, which means one of a few things - either Sarah needs to use Beth as a cover again at some point (unlikely), it will be a tip-off to Paul (likely), Beth was under heavy pressure from Rachel the whole time she was working to save the Clones & fight the Prolethians and that was a big contributing factor in her suicide.
• Kira's butterfly guardian angel, and motherfuckin' Helena shows up to save the day. Her & Sarah are both terrified and actually both feeling safe in each others' arms and holy shit how is that the same actress, Tatiana Maslany is a goddess.

Can we just talk about how awesome that closing scene with
Helena rescuing Sarah
was? Possibly the best scene of the entire series thus far, which is saying a lot.

The who nature vs. nurture thing hit really hard at the end of this episode. Helena still loves the shit out of Sarah. After acknowledging that Sarah shot her, she says, "Please don't send me away again." and Sarah - while horrified that Helena is back from the dead and just saved her from torture, is in the post-shock state of that while ALSO realizing that Pro-Clone Rachel was raised by loving parents, wasn't raised in a sterile corporate environment, and still turned into an asshole who hates her, and Helena - WHO IS HER REAL SISTER was raised in a terrible brainwashed hell, is a veritable psychopath, got MURDERED BY HER, but 100% honestly still loves the shit out of her when she doesn't know who she can trust anymore.

Not to fucking mention how goddamn amazing the effects team is for pulling off that scene FLAWLESSLY.

Side note: That razorblade scar Sarah's gonna have now is the same as the "mountain biking scar" that Beth had, which makes me think that Beth had a whole lot more on her plate when he jumped onto the tracks than anyone else knew.

Also: I think that since David's dead Paul might end up as Rachel's new monitor.

Also, triple post (which I feel a little bit ashamed about, but not enough to stop).

I don't know if I've gushed about how fucking excellent the episode titles are, but dear god they're so fantastic. They're all really wordy and descriptive of the content of the episode from a really cryptically clinical point of view, which just makes the whole meta behind the show just excellent. Speaking of which, this week's upcoming episode is, "Ipsa Scientia Potestas Est" which means, Knowledge Itself Is Power.

It's odd how it feels like an eternity to wait a whole week for a new episode, but at the same time, it also feels like that's not enough time to collect your thoughts about the episode you just saw. I think that's probably why binge-watching back through the series again is such an excellent feeling, because it's still as addictingly satisfying with the cliffhangers dragging you through every episode, and so mentally/emotionally overwhelming that you feel just as exhausted afterwards.

Yes. Yes. Yes. & More Yes to all of that. I have to actively remind myself that it's the same person ALL the time.

Also, Holy fuck how is it that I forget how stressful this show is every week, and how do they STILL keep making it harder to know who to trust?

It still seems that I'm pretty on point about Delphine going to ANY lengths to save Cosima, no matter whose back she has to go behind. Also, seeing Sarah find out about Cosima being sick from Dr. Leeke was heart wrenching.

Poor fucking Felix. That was terrifying. I can't wait until he has a better moment again. I miss him & Alison. Also, Cal & Kira are adorable. I'm also so happy to see Helena & Sarah as pals finally. Also, scary sniper Helena talking to her targets was the best.

It really is almost consistently stressful.

Felix never seems to have anything go right for him :sadpanda:

also how many people crossed the moral event horizon in this episode? I almost wanted Helena to succeed in killing Rachel despite the horrible consequences it would have had, and if anything, the Prolethians just got worse in this episode

Oh man, I know what you mean.

I can't believe that I forgot to mention how fucking creepy terrifying the goddamn Proletheans are. Holy fuck. Ugh. I just can't even handle how perfect untrustworthy some characters are to others in ways that make you suspicious and anxious but happy.

The whole Donny/Alison thing is still in limbo (basically everyone is trying to hold shit hostage from someone this season), and the teaser for next episode showed her talking to Vic in rehab. Holy shit, how can we even deal with him still being around? I just can't.

Also, super-dominating Rachel was made 10000x better by Helena's ongoing commentary.

Lastly: Kira is now a leopard. This is wonderful.

I'm not even sure who's worse at this point, the Proletheans or the Neolutionists. They're both horrible in different ways. At least Leekie came across as not an asshole this episode. Other than that there isn't a single person in either camp I can think of who isn't horrible.

I can't imagine his presence will make anything better for anyone. That situation with Alison sucks so much I can't even.

Can we talk about how creepy that scene was btw? Paul was basically being coerced for the whole episode, which was one of several moral event horizon-y things Rachel did in the episode. But yeah, Helena's commentary made that scene a lot better to watch.

Agreed. I think that's the whole point, especially with the different levels of immoral things that each side is doing, and the inherent grey area that all the clones exist in, it's important that no side are the good guys.

I can't imagine his presence will make anything better for anyone. That situation with Alison sucks so much I can't even.

Right? I really just need Felix & Alison to have a "life sucks and we need each other" reunion.

True, but I'm waiting for more information about how Paul feels about it. If you think about his whole relationship with Beth was essentially coerced interaction as her monitor, so this is essentially just a different variation on the same thing, but with a different kink layered on top of it. Sarah was the one who he was really into for who she was. Despite being kind of disturbing, this is also not anything new for Paul. Not saying that that makes it any better, but it's food for thought about the context.

The clones (minus Rachel) are definitely less evil than the two major conspiracies, but they're anti-heroes for sure, particularly Helena (who admittedly is getting less dark as the series progresses).

Felix and Alison can particularly bond now as victims of blackmail, now that I think of it.

Paul is a cipher but I am pretty sure that he is a punch clock villain who's only doing the things he's doing because he, too, is a victim of blackmail (which seems to be a running theme where Rachel is concerned). That scene towards the end of the episode in particular was just painful to watch because Paul definitely looked to me like he didn't want to be there at all.

This show, man. It really does do a better job than anything else I can think of of making you question everyone's true allegiances. Not quite as many "holy shit" moments in this one as in the last two, but still more than enough for me.

Drunk Helena was hilarious.
