I made it up to 51, but have been floating around 47. Also, I don't join public chat and just have a party chat with my team, so I never run into any Overwatch toxicity.

Nah I think it's cool, it provides an effective counter to the spray-and-pray some Bastion players do, and it only lasts for a few seconds so just don't shoot when he activates it.

It's kinda annoying, because it even blocks Melee attacks despite not reflecting them, so it basically renders him un-attackable with anything aside from AoE damage, and he will swap between that and attacking so oftentimes it's really tough to hit him at all even when you can target him from leaping around all over the place.

Pharah's Mom is the new Sniper support: https://playoverwatch.com/en-us/heroes/ana/

Also: Zenyatta & D.Va changes are incoming, too.

"There's been a lot of talk in the community about how D.Va and Zenyatta felt a little bit underpowered, so we're making changes to them," Mercer explained. "Zenyatta is getting a little more shields, and he goes a lot faster when he uses his Ultimate.

"D.Va's Defense Field, instead of clicking it and it lasting three or four seconds and having a long cooldown, it's now something where you can toggle it on and off and there's a meter that runs that."

Zenyatta now has +50 Shields, & while in Transcendence he moves twice as fast and does 300 healing a second.

PATCH FEATURES

New Hero: Ana (Support)
After being out of the fight for several years, one of Overwatch's founding members is returning. Introducing Ana—a battle-scarred veteran who supports her teammates from a distance using a unique and highly specialized collection of weapons.

Ana’s primary weapon is her Biotic Rifle, which fires long-range darts that can restore the health of her allies or deal ongoing damage to her enemies. Meanwhile, her Biotic Grenade is perfect for a close-quarters clash, simultaneously healing teammates and injuring foes caught in its small area of effect. (Affected allies will also receive a temporary increase to all incoming healing, while affected enemies can’t be healed for a few moments.) And if the battle starts to get out of hand, Ana's sidearm can fire a Sleep Dart, knocking her adversaries unconscious.

Plus, Ana's ultimate ability, Nano Boost, empowers one of her teammates, granting faster movement, increased damage, and resistance to enemy attacks.

GENERAL UPDATES

Gameplay
If a match goes into Overtime for more than 20 seconds, the fuse will now start to "burn down" more quickly
Players now respawn more slowly during Overtime (increased spawn time by 2 seconds)

Competitive Play
Competitive Play matches can now only have one of each hero per team. For more info, click here.

Miscellaneous
- Added Ana as an AI-controlled hero in Practice vs. AI, Play vs. AI, and Custom Game modes
- Timing on Zenyatta's Rapid Discord achievement is more lenient
- Targeted teammates now respond by saying "I'm with you," when players use the “Group Up” communication
- Renamed five sprays to avoid duplicate titles

HERO BALANCE UPDATES

General
• Self-healing abilities now charge ultimate abilities. As a result, some heroes’ ultimate costs have been adjusted (see below).

Bastion
• Configuration: Tank
- Ultimate cost increased by 10%

D.Va
• Defense Matrix
- Cooldown decreased from 10 seconds to 1 second
- A new resource meter has been added. This meter will deplete while Defense Matrix is active and then recharge when it’s not in use.
- Defense Matrix takes 10 seconds to reach full charge from empty
- At a full charge, Defense Matrix will last for 4 seconds
- Defense Matrix will now remain active as long as its assigned hotkey is held
- Defense Matrix has been reclassified as an alternate fire and is now bound to RMB (by default)
- An option to “Toggle Defense Matrix” has been added under Options > Controls > D.Va
• Self-Destruct
- Ultimate cost decreased by 15%
- Explosion delay reduced from 4 seconds to 3 seconds
- Explosion no longer damages D.Va (the player who activates it)

Developer Notes: D.Va isn't being selected as often as our other tanks, and we feel a lot of that stems from the underperformance of her damage absorption abilities. So, we've reconfigured her Defensive Matrix, making it more flexible and giving players the ability to use it more often. We’ve also given Self-Destruct a little more oomph, because it felt slightly underwhelming when compared to many of Overwatch's other ultimate abilities.

Lúcio
• Sound Barrier
- Ultimate cost increased by 10%

McCree
• Peacekeeper
- Now maintains full damage at longer distances, but will deal less damage at extreme ranges

Developer Notes: While the game does feel better following the nerf to McCree’s close-range damage in a previous patch, it left him a little too weak. So, we're increasing his effective distance, making his range similar to Soldier: 76’s. This should hopefully give players another option for dealing with pesky long-range damage dealing heroes like Pharah and Hanzo.

Mercy
• Caduceus Staff
- Damage Boost
- Bonus damage increased from 30% to 50%
- Effect will no longer stacks with bonus damage provided by another Mercy
• Resurrect
- Ultimate charge cost increased by 30%
- Movement is no longer prevented during activation
- Guardian Angel instantly resets upon use

Developer Notes: Mercy's ultimate is one of the most powerful abilities in the game; however, players would often fly into the fray and die while using it. With this update, Resurrect will now take a bit longer to charge, but Mercy will be a lot safer when activating the ability in the middle of combat. In addition, we always intended Mercy’s Damage Boost beam to be her primary method for dealing damage, but it often felt so weak that you were better off pulling out your blaster. To help address this, we've slightly increased its potency.

Roadhog
• Whole Hog
- Ultimate cost increased by 45%

Soldier: 76
• Heavy Pulse Rifle
- Spread recovery will begin after a short delay (rather than instantly)
• Tactical Visor
- Ultimate cost increased by 10%

Zenyatta
• Base shields increased by 50 (now 50 Health/150 Shield)
• Orb of Discord and Orb of Harmony
- Projectile speed has been increased from 30 to 120
• Transcendence
- Movement speed is now doubled upon activation
- Healing amount increased from 200 to 300 health per second

Developer Notes: While Zenyatta has never had the healing abilities of Lúcio or Mercy, he made up for it by dealing more damage. However, his lack of mobility and low health has meant he’s struggled to find a place in many games. To increase his effectiveness, we've made several changes, the biggest of which is an increased shield pool. This will allow him to go head-to-head with more enemies. The Orb of Harmony and Discord changes are also a quality of life change, helping Zenyatta move his orbs around and apply their effects more quickly. And lastly, we’ve increased Transcendence’s healing throughput. This ultimate was designed to be the most effective against sustained, high-damage fire and least effective against short, high-damage bursts (like D.Va’s or Junkrat's ultimates). But, due to the amount of healing it provided, there were times when it was possible for even sustained fire to overcome Transcendence’s output. We’ve made the heal powerful and also allowed Zenyatta to move around more quickly while it’s active.

Holy shit they actually did it. These two things right here are game changers. I really like that they back pedaled on this point lol. While some hero stacks (at least on PC ) are really bad , like stacking tons of Torbs etc. Some were just toxic and didn't make certain situations fun or gave the impression that a win was earned.

Namely D.VA and Tracer stacks during overtime/last point clutching. It was barely about skill at that point but rather who could out last the cheese faster and was so horribly annoying, boring and unfun. Trying to swat down a legion of Tracers on King of the Hill that would have won minutes ago otherwise sucks major dick ,and if they win because of it then it's pretty much 100000% bullshit lol.

Similarly the burn out timer thing is also great to slow down the D.VA cheese as well. It really is a really cheesy strat to just walk out 1 D.VA at a time over and over while a 76 pelts you from a mile away to just run the OT and your health. So this minor change should help a ton. I'm really glad they did these 2 changes.

Overall, this whole Patchset has me nothing but overwhelmingly excited (and not just because of all the AWESOME Zenyatta changes either). The D.Va changes are gonna help out my buddy with our tactics a LOT. The team synergy with Ana seems amazing, because it'll give my other friend who's primarily our sniper a Support option, and just... yeah.

Friggin' awesome all around.

I KINDA want to wait until it's released to keep playing and just sink all my time into Pokémon GO until then, because along with the Torbjörn changes, this is gonna be a MUCH better time once those changes are in place.

I adore the D.VA changes. I always just played her as a slightly weaker, but more mobile and beefier Reaper. Now I can actually reliably contribute as as a flex tank , maybe even possibly as a main tank depending on how good the charge rate and toggle feels once in game. If it plays in game as great as it sounds on paper this should really really help out.

Also love the change to her ult. It was always in this weird spot for that last push if you were on defense. If you were the last person up and had to hold for 6 more seconds for revives you were basically not allowed to use your ult as it would require you either dying to stay on point till it popped, or you getting off point till it popped and hoping the enemy team called your bluff.

Now you can pop ult and hold down the fort as well. It should be a really great QOL change for those clutch moments.
Overall I'm happy and really can't wait to get my hands on the new shield and see how much it helps my Kamikaze Balls Deep.VA playstyle.

The soldier 76 change though. Ouch. That spread recovery change if it's not tuned right or purposley tuned in a certain way can be a huge nerf as his bullet spread gets really silly and inaccurate after a 4 bullet burst. At the 5th bullet and above in a spray it's basically a whifcity rifle. So really good 76's fire in 4 round bursts to negate that, if they are accurate and quick they can get a lot of damage down range.

With this change if the recovery rate is especially slow (say it resets on the 2nd bullet on the secondary burst and so on) that would make him incredibly inaccurate or force him to played much much slower as you would have to account for the recovery rate between firing or choosing to spray instead of waiting for the recovery to occur.

Will have to wait and see what it feels like in game, but it could be huge.

also. Shrike Ana skin is amazing. Captain Ana is bae.

Just soo much Yes in this update.

Excited about the Mercy and D.VA buffs, but no increased movement added to D.VA when she fires?

With Ani Amari, I just want to get down all the dialogue she has with other characters, apperently she has lines with Soldier 76, Reaper, Widowmaker, Pharah, Reinheart, Mcree, and Mercy. With Widowmaker she comments on how Gerard was a fool to love someone like her, to which she responds "You know nothing about him."

Very interesting lore wise.

Also a big thing, according to a bunch of people Sombra ISN'T Ana, it's really up in the air at this point but the majority believe this.

Overwatch needs a story mode so badly.

I didn't even know Ana was coming anytime soon and all the sudden we have all of this lore, etc.

.
I can only get so hard.

You can start pre-downloading a big (>1GB) patch. No official word on when it's live but Reddit speculates some time tomorrow. Given the size, this is definitely Ana, along with the gameplay changes. ^_^

Yeah it seems like Overwatch is doing the PTR update > Live update 1 week later cycle as that's how they did it for Competitive mode as well. So this should be the Ana update :)

Also highly suggest predownloading it asap on PC as this is also the same night WoW's Legion Pre-Patch will be going live so there is a possibility that the Bnet servers might get flakey.

So I just got the game yesterday and have played it a few times, solo and with friends. I've mostly been playing with D.Va, whom I very much enjoy. I've tried Mei a few times, but really can't get into her play-style. I've also tried healing a couple of games with Mercy, and did pretty well with it the first round, and then felt like I got run over multiple times with everything the other team could throw at me the second time. I also tried one round as Tracer, and while she was fun, I think I will have to practice with her to gain the finesse that playing her seems to require, as she's pretty squishy, too.

Overall, I'm enjoying the game so far, and hope to get better at it over the coming weeks.
