I'm going to undercut your rebellious streak there and state we have no formal rules about double posting,
Quiet yop I am a rebel and you need to recognize this. Be in awe.
So a few more things:
I have a slightly better view on the shield, but it isn't a game changer or anything like that. I used it once or twice to go through a choke but it does go too fast and it isn't too wide for it to be op or anything. You can use it to supplement while another tank is pushing.
I tried to dps against the inevitable sym but I always got stuck with a healer. The once or twice I did the shield was a bit of a minor inconvenience, but never really stopped anything. Like as soldier, you could just... move to the side and continue pushing. Probably better with snipers.
The most annoyed I was with the shield was when I decided to play ana and trying to push a choke, a dps would try to force their way in and sym would push a shield through. The damage it blocked wasn't the issue, but I was behind enough that it was block the healing I needed to give the mcree. No one died or anything, just something that anas might have to be aware of.
The shield generator is actually pretty good. Makes her viable on things like the second point of hanamura and the range is significant. There's no audio warnings like the "They have a teleporter" so no one bothers to look for it, if their team has a lot of flankers. Played with this on defense with torb armor and suddenly characters are a lot less squishy.
I will never ever make a successful back teleporter. Even when I do get a nice one, we never capitalize in on it. Also second road on Eichenwald is impossible to keep a teleporter up because everyone is a flanker all the time and running everywhere. But somehow enemy sym always does.
Seen a decent amount of attack sym potg. When she's in the thick of it, and everything is too chaotic to focus, with her range and insta lock on it's she melts people. I've been playing her wrong and putting up turrets when attacking but tbh they're so easy to hit, it would probably just be better to shoot.
Oasis is gorgeous. And has lots of space. I only played twice because I hate control point and for some reason everyone is a dick on ptr right now, but I really like this map. Even the spawn rooms are interesting.
There's a lot of layers and pockets to it, and some people were wondering if there would ever be used, but I think the space gives a lot of characters to be viable. That said, I actually think sym fares worse here than on other control points because it's just so spacious and there's so many levels you can engage in. My original though was that there were more places to hide her teleporter/shield generator but her turrets just don't get much use. Could be said about a lot of control point maps but here especially.
I think Oasis will probably be the most fun control point map.
