Really really well done. The way stuff is timed with the music. Using clips that either pertain to stuff that happens in VII or is vague enough to have done so. Very cool, thanks.

I've always pronounced it "Bah-ha-moot" because of my accent.

I'm surprised there's no "Yuh-ffie" vs "Yoo-ffie" in there. :desu:

Though I do have to agree that "Buh-hum-utt" sounds better.

Ditto, though I was aware of the "correct" pronunciation.

As said in the other thread, I always said May-koh as well, so I'm okay with it.

Really, I'm never gonna begrudge anyone who mispronounces something by saying it the way an American/English/Insert-your-origin kid with no real knowledge of Japanese would say it. Because that's how most of us played it, how could expect someone to know how it would be pronounced in Japanese?

As such - I know it is You-fee, but I won't hold it against someone for saying Yuh-fee. That's how it's spelled! In fact, I'm amazed how many people said it 'correctly' by accident. Why would it not rhyme with "puffy" or "Buffy," would the 'ie really make that much of a difference.
Likewise, I will give someone a hard time for "Tiffa."

I usually don't mind people pronouncing words the American/English way (although IRL, I do appreciate it if the original pronunciation of a foreign word or name is imitated, just like how some of us ESL people try hard to sound American/English). In some cases I even prefer their pronunciation better (e.g. mako).

As for 'Tifa', I don't know if I imagined this rule or if it was somehow reinforced in our english classes, but from the way it's spelled it's already clear to me that it's pronounced as "Teefa".

Yes. A single consonant between two vowels tends to make the first vowel long. Two consonants do the opposite. Hence why Yuffie looks like "Yuh-fee" to me. It's why "apple" isn't pronounced "A"-pull
Obviously there are exceptions - it's a language, and a complex one at that. But phonetically speaking, English and Japanese are in agreement on Tifa.

Ah yes. And I've always said it "Yuh-fee" as well.

But what about 'Mukki'? It's always been "Moo-kee" to me. "Muh-kee" just sounds plain wrong :(

It is "moo-kee," but I always said it the other way because that's how it looks in English.

And most things about him are plain wrong ;)

Oh yeah, gratitude for reminding me, my king :desu:

I decided not to give a hoot and say it "Yuh-fee" because spelling and it sounds way cuter anyway.

For the video you just posted, you would have used the following format:

[ youtube]zN51KdckTGM[/youtube]
(without the space I put between the "[" and the "y")

Basically, the part after the "v=" in the url should go into those youtube tags. Just be sure not to include any extra url code that might appear starting at an "&" -- in other words, nothing after the alpha-numeric part.
