I mean in the subsequent posts, the image doesn't show up when you and Jessie quoted it. Glad my pics could help with yours, though. And yeah, I'd agree there's a pretty good chance that we could see her in a different outfit at her place. Or maybe in flashback to her time before Avalanche during her old career to give us a glimpse of who she used to be, especially if my theory about that is right.

Oh, that just happens when someone quotes an attachment I think. Is anybody actually curious about how I do the colorings? For these ones especially, its more complicated than you might think.

I think you showed me before, Ody, but go ahead and share with us if you want, it'd still be interesting. And Jessie, don't feel bad, I don't draw well, either. It's why I stick to writing, hehe. :mon:

Speaking of writing, do you have some kind of rythm wi[h uploading chapters or is it just random?

I'm really starting to think that coloring and drawing are two very different skill sets, so maybe you should give it a try! As for drawing, just keep doing it. Even if you don't feel like you're any good, just keep going! One day you'll look back and be amazed at how far you've come. Like, here's how my art looked back in my freshman year of High School:

You asked for it! Let's use my coloring up there for the example. So to start with, you have the original pencil sketch:

6616473_p0_master1200.jpg

Now with my original drawings, this would be fine. But since this isn't my art, there's more too it. When I scan my pencils, it's at 300 DPI, basically a 4K quality image, but this here is a low quality JPEG from 2009. To get the resolution up to snuff, I used an AI nueral network program to upscale the picture. It's the same one I used to upscale the pages for the book I made of Obstinate Melon's comic. So once the AI does it's thing, we get this:

6616473_p0(UpRGB)(auto_scale)(Level3)(2014x1160).png

Much bigger! The AI isn't perfect, so the pencil texture is lost a bit, but the sort of water-colory look is still nice I think. Okay, so now to the coloring. I like keeping all the texture of the sketch, so I can't just redraw the whole thing digitally. Photoshop has this thing called "overlay." Imagine the image being overlaid is casting a shadow on everything below it. Does that make sense? So there's two versions of the image working together to make the final image:

1. The Sketch

2. The colors

The image above is the sketch, that's where the details come from. Here's the color:

Doesn't that look just terrible? I literally do the colors with a mouse, since I don't have a drawing pad. So yeah, that looks bad, but once you overlay the sketch onto it, it looks great!

And that's my ridiculous process!

NOTE: This is NOT how most artists do this shit. Like, not at all. I'm just weird, and this is what works for me.

It's just when I finish them and have gone back to do a few final tweaks. When I was first writing Lifestream last year, I used to get a couple chapters up a week, but it slowed down over time. At first it was because of the mod for FF7 PC that I've been working on at the same time - part of it involves a script revision using a lot of Lifestream's dialogue changes, so they've been concurrent projects for a while. As I got more familiar with the modding tools and with Ody's help, I spent more time on the mod adding things I hadn't originally planned but which I now felt I could do - such as adding entirely new scenes to the early game. But I still managed to get chapters up here and there in spite of that.

Now, though, the mod's pretty much on hold, although I am in the process of replacing the new fontset I added with the one from the remake - copying the letters and such from subtitled 4k screenshots I captured from the demo really helped with that. Anyway, I haven't posted much new about Lifestream in a while because I'm in the middle of a major revision/rewrite of Book 1 which greatly expands the trio's time and development in the story, since I wasn't fully satisfied with how that turned out in the original version. I don't want to post anything of the revision until it's done because I don't want to confuse anyone with a story that has some parts revision and then jumps back to the original, especially when it's looking like Book 1's going to be a fair bit longer this time and the events won't coincide with the original chapter numbers anymore.

As far as Reflections goes, I've been writing that at the same time, and I post chapters pretty much when they're done. I'm well into writing Chapter 5 now and I'm sure it'll be up soon. But for a shorter (and less long-winded) answer your question, there isn't really a rhythm to my uploads. It's just when I get them done and when my other creative projects allow. Sorry for the length of my reply, hehe. I tend to ramble sometimes.

Thanks, but don't sell yourself short. Just keep at it. The more you do it, the more you learn and the better you get at it. That's how I got to where I'm at in my writing. Eventually you get a feel for what works and what doesn't. Care to show us some of your work?

Oh ok. I think there are online translators that could automatically convert it to English, but I don't know much about them.
