Here's a little something I put together today:




Jessie: Um, Cloud?
Cloud: Yeah, Jessie?
Jessie: Why are you touching my leg? Not that I'm complaining, mind you...
Cloud: Just getting to know my teammate.
Jessie: Confident, aren't we?
Cloud: I don't see you backing away.
Jessie: Well, how 'bout I give you a special, private welcome to Avalanche when the mission's over?
Cloud: How 'bout now?
Jessie: Hah! Kinda hard with Barret scowling at us over there, isn't it?
Cloud: Screw him. He can wait.
Jessie: Yeah, but what about Tifa? Are you guys close?
Cloud: Who?
Jessie: Guess that answers that question...

There is a little basis for someone to want a Jessie DLC though. SE has shown/said that they are expanding on her/Avalanches characters. They are no longer minor characters from the OG. They are a big part of part 1.

I understand why you don't want DLC though.

You don't know that it would be bad because you haven't seen what it would be. You're only guessing. And the leaks, along with SE's owns statements, confirmed that the trio's being greatly expanded and those long segments with them will be present and part of the game. You're the one who's speculating because you're stating a negative opinion on something that hasn't even been developed yet. And DLC for Part 1 only needs to concern itself with Part 1 and its characters rather than the entire series, so Jessie and the trio wouldn't be lessened by having it.

DLC has been done right before - see Shale from Dragon Age: Origins, as well as the expansion campaigns for that game (Leliana's Song, Witch Hunt, Awakening, etc.). SE can do it right as well with FFVIIR.

I'm failing to see why you've decided to come to the literal jessie club when you clearly don't care for the character. If you want to fight about this, we have a dedicated thread for that already.

The demo did wonders towards getting our girl some much needed attention! I only hope the full game does the same.

Me too, Ody. I hope that when the full game comes out, people don't forget about her once Aerith and Tifa arrive on the scene. That's my only concern, really. I've seen some naysayers sniping at the ship saying the only reason people are into her now is because Aerith and Tifa weren't really in the demo much and that once the full game hits, that'll change and people will forget about Jessie. I hope those guys are wrong, though.

People are only gonna have the demo for a whole month still, so by the time they play the game they'll already like her more than they otherwise might have. I think it'll be fine. While I'm here, may as well give an update on that drawing I'm doing:

Sorry for not posting about Clessie (the remake banter has actually made me more open to it, fyi) but I've been waiting for this since the demo leak happened. Time to study the fuck out of these models, Square is the master class at modeling idealized characters

Hey don't worry about it @Prism , this isn't strictly a Clessie club, despite the name. I love your art, so if getting a good look at the models were to inspire you to draw Jessie maybe, I'd be pretty happy. But yeah, it's pretty wild how fast the models got ripped, can't wait to see what people do once the full game is out.

Thanks a bunch Odysseus! You know, drawing Jessie is not off of the table. Time will have to tell!

You’re right on with that assessment - looking at the models alone has already given me a lot of good info.

I was thinking about what Nomura said about

Getting to meet Jessie's parents. The way he phrased it - "Like a scene where you end up meeting Jessie's parents, having dinner." - doesn't really specify whether it's just Cloud that meets them or the whole group, though I don't think that she'd spring a whole team of strangers on her folks like that. Also, and more interestingly, Nomura's wording doesn't specify whether said dinner will be with Jessie and her parents together or just Jessie herself. Personally, I hope for the latter, but either one's good. It'll be interesting for Cloud either way. And being at her place might also leave open the possibility of seeing her in another outfit, since I don't know if she'd stay in her armor at her own house. She might go upstairs to change or something and maybe let her hair down.

You know, its probably in part due to talking to you all and bonding over our appreciation of this minor character, as well has how generally awful the world has been lately, but I'm genuinely starting to question if I'm emotionally ready for this fucking video game. Like, I've had multiple moments lately where I briefly got a little more upset than is reasonably warranted about what has to happen to Jessie, as well as Biggs and Wedge. Jesus Christ. Is it April yet?
