Ah ok, np Ry. Nothing wrong with wanting more FFVII. :mon:

But I really don't think they'd be bad, considering the quality they've put into the remake so far.

The others though, not so much. Aerith is already a PC so she doesn't need it - she gets enough attention already, and she'll have multiple games in the remake series in which to shine. The same with Rufus, at least for now - he has some combat ability, but I think a DLC for him might work better later in the series. Plus he'll get attention anyway as one of the primary villians of the series. The point of DLC like this should be to give more attention to characters who aren't PC's or main villians but who still play a significant role in the story and have some combat ability to make playability feasible.

You never know, Ody. SE's given her more screen presence than either of the other two. And there's no reason they couldn't still be in her standalone DLC - they are her friends, after all. It would be odd if they weren't there at some point.

Your talking as if it's a reality.
Let's face it, Jessie and the other avalanche members are all minor characters.
If you open up dlc content for those then there would be no end to potential dlc spin offs which wouldn't add more to the ffvii plotline but rather dilute it more and more just for the sake of making money.

I get you wanna see more Jessie but the reality is she isn't that important a character.

If your talking potential plot progression your more likely to have dlc around professor Gast or the time after cloud confronts sephiroth.

You're still thinking of her in terms of the OG. But that's not how she is anymore. She and the rest of the trio are going to be around for at least half of Part 1, if not a bit more. Just the same as Aerith was in the OG. So that's more than minor. Minor is only having a couple lines and that's it. But that's not what we're getting with the trio. We're getting long, extended segments with each of them, a lot of time and development. That's not minor. And it wouldn't open any floodgates because SE would still pick and choose which would work best for the story and gameplay. They're not going to start throwing them out willy-nilly. They've taken great care in how they're doing the remake, and any such DLC would be done with the same care because they know how much this series means to people.

By that same justification literally everyone who has more screen time has the potential to have even bigger parts than her come the second instalment.

It's entirely speculation at this point with no basis whatsoever.

My only point even posting in here was today I really hope there isn't any dlc because quite frankly it would be shite.

There is a little basis for someone to want a Jessie DLC though. SE has shown/said that they are expanding on her/Avalanches characters. They are no longer minor characters from the OG. They are a big part of part 1.

I understand why you don't want DLC though.

You don't know that it would be bad because you haven't seen what it would be. You're only guessing. And the leaks, along with SE's owns statements, confirmed that the trio's being greatly expanded and those long segments with them will be present and part of the game. You're the one who's speculating because you're stating a negative opinion on something that hasn't even been developed yet. And DLC for Part 1 only needs to concern itself with Part 1 and its characters rather than the entire series, so Jessie and the trio wouldn't be lessened by having it.

DLC has been done right before - see Shale from Dragon Age: Origins, as well as the expansion campaigns for that game (Leliana's Song, Witch Hunt, Awakening, etc.). SE can do it right as well with FFVIIR.

Me too, Ody. I hope that when the full game comes out, people don't forget about her once Aerith and Tifa arrive on the scene. That's my only concern, really. I've seen some naysayers sniping at the ship saying the only reason people are into her now is because Aerith and Tifa weren't really in the demo much and that once the full game hits, that'll change and people will forget about Jessie. I hope those guys are wrong, though.

Sorry for not posting about Clessie (the remake banter has actually made me more open to it, fyi) but I've been waiting for this since the demo leak happened. Time to study the fuck out of these models, Square is the master class at modeling idealized characters

I love your art, so if getting a good look at the models were to inspire you to draw Jessie maybe, I'd be pretty happy. But yeah, it's pretty wild how fast the models got ripped, can't wait to see what people do once the full game is out.

Thanks a bunch Odysseus! You know, drawing Jessie is not off of the table. Time will have to tell!

You’re right on with that assessment - looking at the models alone has already given me a lot of good info.
