In the meantime, I was just looking over the tracklist for the remake's OST, and guess what I saw? Jessie has her own theme now! And there's another track, listed right before the one for the pillar boss battle with Reno, called "The Look on Her Face", which seems like it could be a special piece for when she dies. If that's true, plus the fact that Jessie's got her own theme now, it would seem to give weight to the idea that Jessie is going to have the Aerith moment of Part 1. Avalanche has a theme, too, but Biggs and Wedge don't have individual themes. Jessie is the only one of the three that does. She's special like that, lol.

Yeah, I noticed your comment on the other post. I like somber tracks, so that's cool that there would be a track that would play right before Jessie dies. I think it signifies there will be a "moment" like you were hoping for. That's really cool

Different, yes. Worse? I don't know. They may not want to diminish Jessie's moment like that. Hopefully, anyway.
There's another track called "A Tower and a Promise" that might be for something about Cloud and Jessie, too. I don't know for sure, obviously, and it could just as easily be referring to Cloud's promise to Tifa in Nibelheim. But the track is listed amongst what seems to be other Avalanche-centric pieces rather than earlier in the soundtrack where Tifa's theme is, so it might not be for the promise scene at all. Maybe it's deliberately named to make us think it is, I don't know. But the track before it is called "Moonlight Thievery" which is listed close to Jessie's theme, so maybe Cloud makes Jessie a promise, too, while they're out alone together on a mission? That would be nice, but we'll just have to wait and see.

I think "A Tower and a Promise" could also be for Barret's promise to the Trio. (which could be a new scene altogether) You're right though, we don't know. There are a few possibilities

Well, we'll see. SE has to do something to throw everyone off, since a huge proportion of the playerbase is going to know it's coming a mile away, and the simple fact of that foreknowledge has the potential to lessen the impact of the moment unless things happen very differently than in the OG, so differently that it'll be a shock even to the vets. I just don't want Jessie and her moment to be forgotten once Aerith has hers, is all. If Part 1's going to drive anything home to people it's that Aerith isn't the only one who died. And I'm hoping that she won't be the only one remembered this time around.

Yeah it's tough. Knowing that their deaths are going to happen will lessen the effect it'll have the second time around (In my opinion). But, by adding more content to each character, I hope they will be able to still have the same impact the 2nd time. With them doing multiple parts, and Aerith's death not coming till a later part, I doubt Jessie's death will be forgotten. Especially since SE ha put more effort/content into her character.

Okay I had a dream last night and boy was it crazy! I dreamt that Jessie was playable! I kid you not! I was talking to someone and I look at a TV screen and see Jessie being playable and I screamed yes and got weird you are crazy looks then woke up lol if only...

I agree, Pand. And I hope you're right about Jessie's death. The fact that they went out of their way to not only give Jessie her own theme but also potentially a special piece for her death and final moments with Cloud makes me happy. "The Look on Her Face" could refer to how happy she is to see him again, that she's just so overwhelmed she can't hide it. Just before getting her fatal wound, perhaps. We'll see. But I'm sure it'll be quite a moment, one way or another.
And First, that'd be great if she was playable, but I doubt she will be. A guest like Red, maybe, if we're lucky. And if we're extremely lucky, maybe SE will give us a prequel DLC about her where she is playable and takes center stage. We can but dream...

so many things wrong with that fic. for one thing, tifa would never do that to jessie because she's too shy to even acknowledge her feelings. second, jessie was sure to ask about their relationship because obviously it would be a jerk stomp all over her like she doesn't matter. and third, even if tifa wasn't the shy she'd never be that rude. so, so many things wrong with that. so gross.That's hilarious! Lovely, indeed. You know, I got a guest review today on Reflections on FF.NET kinda indirectly hating on Clessie, I think. It was some guy writing as a jealous Tifa hissing at Jessie and telling Cloud he's hers, which is weird because the chapter had nothing at all to do with him or Tifa - neither of them have entered the story yet and won't for quite a while.
Some people are just weird, I guess. Oh, well.

Like I said, neither Cloud nor Tifa was in that chapter at all and won't show up for a while yet, so I don't know why the guy was even doing that. Makes no sense to me. And I agree that Tifa wouldn't be that way - she wasn't with Aerith, after all. She's shy, but I think she's also mature enough not to squabble about things like that, especially when there are more important things going on around her. And Jessie would definitely talk to her first, I think, like you said. They'd probably be aware of each other's feelings for him since they're such good friends.

oh i only listened to the bombing and mako reactor because they're so addictingly good : P plus i like listening to the OST after i experience it being played in the direction it's supposed to be instead of just flatout in a list, so i don't think i would have found it anyways. but it's nice to hear it exists!

and frankly, whether tifa or anyone snipped at jessie or not to stop, well that's just immature isn't it? it's up to cloud and his feelings and choices, jessie nor anyone has any control over that. so eat on that and sit down
also, to back up a bit, perhaps aerith's death with surpass jessie's in acknowledgement, but it's pretty clear what square is doing. they're going to give each girl their own part so we can connect to them as much as possible. even though jessie isn't around for all of pt1 (and who knows, the same might be for aerith in pt2), that's why we're getting all these promises about her interactions (and avalanche). and since she's getting her own theme as well, i don't think this theory is much of a reach.
jessie isn't as possessive as she is flirty as well. she's not "fighting" for cloud or competing, she's just attracted to him and is having some fun with it.

Well, I think there's enough room for both Jessie and Aerith to be the Tragic Death Queens of FF7R. Like you said, Jessie for Part 1 and Aerith for whatever part she meets her fate in. But I think being in separate games will help them to not diminish each other but to each stand out in their own way.
