That's good to hear. Are all her scenes alone with Cloud just recreated ones from the original, or are there new ones, too? I don't want to know what they are, just whether there's more to look forward to between them than just the train stuff.

Good to know. Something else I wondered, though.
You said that the trio is only really in the first four chapters, but since Reactor 5 and the Airbuster fight are in Chapter 7, shouldn't that mean that the trio appears to some degree in every chapter prior to that? And is every chapter the same length, or are some longer than others?

Chapters vary in length, generally speaking. But I think most of them are around 2 to 3 hours long? If you take your time to enjoy them, at least.

About Reactor 5...
For some reasons, not every member of Avalanche joins the mission.

And I refuse to say much more! I know for sure there's some stuff in the game you guys are going to be potentially very excited about and I don't want to spoil the fun! :)

Sure, thanks! Any idea why what you said about Reactor 5 happens?

Yup! Finished the game so I know pretty much everything :P

Jessie is injured (sprained ankle, nothing serious but hindrance for the mission). She stays back. Wedge stays as well with her and Marlene. Only Biggs goes ahead.

Ah, man. No final scene with her in the plate interior like in the OG. Or train disguise, which seems like it would've been the one chance she'd have had to have a different look and outfit. Why'd they take those things out? I guess I just don't understand what the point was of leaving them out of the mission and giving us less time with them than we otherwise would have had, especially since - at least according to the OG - we won't hear or see from them again until they die in the pillar (which I don't want to know ANYTHING about). I mean, the scene where Jessie apologizes to Cloud about the ID she made for him could've been a nice moment for them, but it seems now it doesn't even happen at all.

Aight, I'm very content with the Jessie material in the remake. Its not as much as I would have liked, but her chapter was very well done.

This is a world with healing potions and materia. Couldn't Jessie have just drunk some potions or had some Cure spells cast on her to fix her leg up? I haven't gotten the game yet since GameStop doesnt open until 11, so I don't want to be spoiled anymore. But this seems like an obvious oversight.

Just hold on tight, okay?
haven't really gotten the chance to look at the game, i literally only saw 20min after jessie and cloud run out the building (i had to go to bed soon after) but in that small scene fire mentioned before, it's SO MUCH. but posting cloud

he pretends to be aloof, but as a fan said on twitter, he's taking almost everything about her to heart. also sorry for the low quality screens, it was taken from my phone which taps out at 1080 but they were just quick screens i had to take.
a more extensive analysis on my twitter if anyone is interested

also sorry for my sudden leave but i didn't want to risk seeing or even hearing anything about not only jessie but the game, so that's why i left abruptly. but i'm here now, can't wait to look at more and discuss!

until later guys!

That's great! I just wish that...
We could have given her the flower. I hate that it's forced Tifa now. And Jessie never said a word about it even though it was right there in front of her. Is she blind?

A lot of choice has been taken out of the game, disappointingly. You do get the chance to make a choice regarding Jessie at the end of chapter 4 however.

what i like the most in that short scene so far is cloud appearing dismissive but he still stays by jessie because there's no way he not having a chance to show off when he can, and of course that underlying attraction. for example
when he refuses the materia first, he looks like he's unconcerned, but why didn't he just leave? jessie didn't stop him in his tracks, she just forced the materia on him. what cloud would have done if it was honest, is respond tersely then quickly move on, as he did when he first met aerith.
there's more of a that subtlety i'm talking about : p

Even when he says he was only doing his job?

I do love her line on the train, though - "There's such a thing as playing too hard to get."

I'm also disappointed that
they took out Jessie's scene alone with Cloud in the cargo car where she cleans his face. Why would they do that? I was looking forward to seeing it. She doesn't seem to have many of her OG moments left, sadly.

LOL
when she quieted him on the train
that line was pretty cool. ah jessie the masterful flirt. she's so good at it it's like she's talking right to me ❤️

i don't remember that scene in the OG so i'm not that disappointed, but i would be lying if i didn't feel a little something about it. that would have been perfect jessie bait tbh.

btw, did we decide that the look on her face is actually jessie's second theme or something? anyone hear it yet?

Not yet. Not me, at least. If it's from what I think it's from, I'm still quite a ways from it. And I'm absolutely dreading getting there. Anyway, I've just finished Chapter 4, and I loved it! And can I just say this about Jessie?

Those moments at the end were exactly the kind of thing I was hoping to see!
The whole chapter was great! See how Cloud softened after seeing her dad, and getting to see those pictures of her. I only wish we'd been able to have closeups of them since some were smaller and harder to make out. And I loved Jessie's dinner invitation at the end - of course I accepted it. Who wouldn't? Kinda makes you wonder what might've happened between them had he gotten back to her the next night instead of falling into Aerith's church. And Cloud carrying her into the 7th Heaven was pure bliss!

I was hoping he'd do something like that after I found out about her ankle. Also, Wedge's comment doesn't bother me so much anymore, since he didn't seem to be overly serious about it. And it was also a little more vague than I'd been expecting. He never explicitly stated it referred to her flirting, after all. And at first I wondered if her dinner invitation was genuine after she said "Psych!" (which I loved, she is just so great!), but she mentions it in the 7th Heaven the next day, so she did mean it. So I think it's safe to say that she does have some genuine attraction toward him, and I wish they'd have had the chance to see what might've come of it. And he was definitely trying to convince himself when he said it was just another mission. You could definitely tell that it wasn't.

It was also great seeing how Cloud bonded with the guys, and having them backing you up in the warehouse battle. I just wish there had been a solo mission with Jessie as well, but can't have everything, I guess. Those moments with her and Cloud in Chapter 4 more than made up for it, especially when she hugged him - another thing I was hoping to see. At first I thought she had actually kissed him on the cheek until the camera zoomed in. Would've been nice, but I'm really happy with what I saw. If only there could be more of it. Now it'll be a long time before she shows up again, probably.

Hopefully SE will give her that starring role she longs for in the form of a prequel DLC centering on her. I really hope so. I just wish the story didn't have to rip you away from her and the guys the way it does.

It was so good, right? I got almost everything I ever wanted out of that chapter! I just wish it wasn't so early in the game... I'm already nearing the plate fall, probably going to see it tomorrow. I'm not ready...

It was! I just wish there was more of it and that
Jessie could've gone with the others on the mission like she did in the OG.

Well, I'm definitely going to be doing a lot of screencapping of that chapter when I go back through it later, hehe. They didn't forget Clessie, after all. Of course, that's just going to make the plate fall even harder for me than it already was...

I was also disappointed that she got left out of the reactor 5 mission. I guess the logic was that they really didn't contribute much originally, and rather than expand on it, they just cut out Wedge and Jessie instead. Sucks, but it's more than made up for by all the new stuff in chapter 4.

Agreed but there is a scene in chapter 4 something she does on the bike during a cutscene if you do a certain thing she will do to cloud

She did have a small scene with him, though, where she apologizes for the ID she made him setting off the alarms. They could've really made that into a special moment for them. But with all that we got in Chapter 4, I'm not as upset about it as originally was. And I think the alarms going off during the bike sequence was probably a nod to Cloud's ID setting them off in the OG.
