I like Aerith's "It's alright now, right?" line from AC, mostly because Maaya Sakamoto delivers it in such a pretty way. Didn't like Mena Suvari's delivery of it at all, but that's beside the point.

If only SE didn't feel the need to hire "celebrities" as voice actors for the US versions and chose based on talent and skill. Andrea Bowen did a better job at least but I still don't think her voice captured Aerith completely.

I like her humour when you can't even tell she is joking like when she says "my materia is good for nothing" and Cloud just says "you don't know how to use it". Idk, I always liked that feel I got off of Aerith.

I absolutely despised Mena. That is all true, she had no emotion and really I don't think her voice is playful enough or "cute" for Aerith. Then Andrea went over the top and made Aerith sound rather ditzy, but then again she was young. And Mandy Moore...I just don't think she fits Aerith at all also she makes Aerith sound younger than Yuffie almost. Maaya is gold she works perfectly imo.

1000% true. She just kept talking and talking I wanted to gauge out her eyeballs. She was like Maechen in X she wouldn't stfu!! D:<

George Newbern voiced Superman in several cartoons and appeared in several sitcoms

Rachael Leigh Cook has been in a ton of films

Mrs. Roboto, er, I mean Mena Suvari, has been in films too, including American Pie 1&2, and Andrea Bowen stars in Desperate Housewives

So while none of them are really A-listers, the core FF7 voice actors have enjoyed relatively good careers beyond their VA roles.

Also, let me jump on the Suvari < Bown bandwagon. I always despised Mena, she's so bland and flat. Andrea sounds so cute and sweet in CC, perfectly Aerith.

OMG YES. Thank you all for hating Mena as Aerith!
She REALLY didn't capture Aerith at all. I mean, Aerith is meant to sound playful and sweet. Mena made her sound like a retarded robot.
Andrea was perfect for Aerith. Much better choice. I'm so glad they didn't use Mena in CC.

I'm actually one of those of the opinion that Mandy Moore was the best Aerith they've had so far. Her performance in KH was fantastic.

I totally agree. Out of the three I think Mandy's voice fit Aerith's persona the best. She did a great job capturing her femininity and sweetness, from what I can remember at least. It's been a while since I played KH.
