Thank you Shademp, Tim, Carlie and Tres for doing this, and Cab And Keveh for offering your support.

We're aiming for this weekend. We should start arranging day and time by about Wednesday once everyone is more likely to have weekend plans finalised and we know what we're working around. For simplification of figuring out how our times work in relation with one another, I'll put this map of time zones here. This one is pretty neat because it even shows which countries use daylight savings.

Concerning recording, I would like confirmation of who is willing and able to do it. Two recordings should be enough (I hope).

This weekend will be kind of a big deal. My gf is using her remaining vacation days, so we'll both be off the whole weekend. We don't have any plans finalized other than going to church on Sunday from 9:45-12:30 (GMT-5 zone), but we're also going to go to dinner and do a haunted trail at some point over the weekend.

I'm still totally on board with participating, but I wanted to offer a tentative look at what we'll need to coordinate around from my end.

Would 0700 on Sunday be too early for you and Carlie? GMT -what is Ryu? That would be 1300 for Shademp. I think.

Ryu is in the same timezone as me and Carlie. Maybe I could get up that early. Don't know how late our activities will run Saturday, but if that's what works best for the group, I'll do it.

Mmmm. If you need to leave by at least nine, then 8 could also work, and then you guys just start with your parts and finish them so you can leave, and then the others can move on? So that's 1400 for Shad then.

From my end those times sound good.

I have tested out MP3 Skype Recorder. It is...a bit dodgy.

- Prone to crashing
- Sounds like I'm in a box

Aside from this, the recordings are functional. Important to record in MONO mode. If you record in STEREO mode, you'll get voices from the left and other sound from the right.

Soooooo I can easily help with recording, but due to MP3 Skype Recorder easily crashing it is even more important now that multiple people record.

EDIT: It's also important that I don't play any music on my end, be it in potplayer or on YouTube, or else that will be recorded too. I'm pretty sure the Skype sound for receiving a message will be recorded, so make sure your status is set to "Busy" so to avoid those sounds.

I worked out a preliminary schedule for the podcast today. This being TLS, I doubt anything more than this will be necessary.

We had some music in the preceding podcasts, and I liked it. But this one looks to be so busy that I think we'll skip on that this time for want of time.

I like the sound of this podcast. Whatever changes we end up making to TLS, it's good to have a look back at our recent achievements before we do so.

What are you planning to use Ryu? I have never had any trouble with Audacity Shad, if you want to try that. But your note on not having any sound that could interrupt around counts there too.

Do we have a list of people who are going to take part in this podcast? I wouldn't mind joining but I don't want a "too many chefs" scenario and it seems like discussion should be kept to the people who wrote the stuff + a few others. I don't think it's wise to have more than 5 or 6 people in it. And I'd love Flint to be in a podcast for once, because he always has interesting stuff to say.

We have Shademp, Tim, Carlie and Tres, so I don't think adding you would be too many people, especially since Tres may have to leave at some point. I think it would be 1200 your time, if you want to join.

What are you planning to use Ryu? I have never had any trouble with Audacity Shad, if you want to try that. But your note on not having any sound that could interrupt around counts there too.

The thing with Audacity is that if you end up clicking on stuff in the computer that makes a sound (like the click-sound of going from folder to folder), that will be recorded too. Maybe there are settings to avoid this, I honestly haven't checked. I noticed no such sounds being recorded when I used MP3 Skype Recorder.

Btw I'm slightly confused about one thing. Who is set to "lead" the podcast? I know you are organizing this podcast Airling, but will you be the one to make sure that things stay on topic and that the checklist is cleared properly? Or will that role be assigned to podcast veteran Ryu/Tim?

I just realised something and am being pissed at the organiser of this here poscast for being sexist and only including only one woman in it. That's not representative at all and should be fixed!
