Sounds good to me. :monster:

I need to walk to the gas station down the street and buy something but I can do this whenever after that.

There's a very small chance I can participate an hour and eight minutes from now while I'm driving home. That's from 11:00-12:00 my/Ryu's time. That's assuming you guys don't start sooner. Do not feel obligated to wait for me, though.

Seriously, I don't even know that the audio Skype works on my phone and we won't be able to test it until I leave here because cell signal cuts in and out at work.

If I can't make it, I look forward to hearing you guys either way. :monster:

So, is this evar happening again?

More importantly, is there anything I can do to help this ever happen again?

I'm kicking my ass into gear and getting this going. The site anniversary is next month and we should really have an anni podcast. I am willing to arrange anything necessary regarding skype/recording/etc, but I'm not sure my internets will allow it.

We were discussing this on the forum birthday thread (don't have time to link to it now, late for work), and figured a "biggest news" podcast would be apt. I've also gone done some counting, and this year's site contributors thus far have been:

Tres:13
Shademp:5
Flint:3
Tets:3
Carlie:2
Lex:2
Tim:1

Well done to you folks, because you are the ones that actually contribute productively to this community:salute::headbang:. I think it would be wild and awesome to have as many of you guys in as possible, to tell us about the work you put into these contributions.

That's all I can think of now. LETS DO THIS!!!!!

^ I'd love to appear on that pod and tell everyone what I'm responsible for and what I'm working on at the moment. I'd love to, but I can't. I'm not working on anything and I don't hold any real responsibilities either. I admire your enthusiasm, Airling, but I've lost mine for the time being. Hopefully some of the other people on that list will join you :) I think Tres and Shad have been the star contributors this year.

Flint I was hoping to catch you on #tls but I haven't seen you in there. Let's talk :)

Also Airling kudos for that post!

The last time I recall a podcast happening it was very hard to gather people. I think it would just need someone (like you) to gather folk and go for it. If you want to do a (belated) birthday podcast may I suggest the following topics:

TLS' achievements over the last year/6 years / upcoming stuff
How the FF franchise has changed FF7-now
What is the draw of FF and why are people still interested after all these years
What the members of TLS would like to see in upcoming games (spin off games/ more story / better graphics / another film / more back stories idk, stuff like that)

And finally:
Most memorable thing in the last year on TLS
or
Why TLS is so fab/attractive/whatever to the podcasters

IDK, I'm not a gamer, but that would be a cool lil podcast imo.

@Flint. No problem :properhug:. May your mojo return to you swiftly:salute:.

@Lex. Thanks you!!!

@That sounds like a fantastic podcast, but I'm sort of wondering if that isn't one we should save for the 7th birthday;). Go on a VII craze?

Now on to business. Participants and time? I'm giving it a two week deadline. Gotta stop all this dilly-dallying.

If I'm given a role, like doing an introduction or asking questions to people or anything where I don't expose my lack of knowledge I'll go in for it. I'm good at asking questions :)

Thank you Shademp and Cab!

I've made a sort of shortlist of possible discussion topics from the front page material starting Sept 2013. Went for mainly VII centred ones. Point out if I've missed something.

Omega & G Reports
Unused Text
Music updated on PC release
Unused Fields
"Dilly dally, shilly shally - A LTD Analysis" Updated
DoC Lost Episode
Version Guide release
Tres' apology to Cleariths (not sure about this one, because it's out there now and done. But on the other hand it was important to the site in general. It's your call Tres.)
OtWtaS French version
To be a hero
Fan novelization continues
G-Bike on mobile
Howl at E3
FF 20th Anniversary Ultimania File 2:Scenario-Impressive Scenes
FF 25th Memorial Ultimania Vol. 2

The list is way too long atm and will need some shortening. What will stay and what won't we have time for? Or could some things be covered briefly and others more at length?

Edit: Items with strike-through determined impractical for use.

Eh, I have no idea what I would contribute but if you need someone to fill a space or yer stuck for people and need somebody to chat shite about FFVII lemme know :monster:

I nominate this weekend. Sunday is best for me, but I may not be able to call in(see paragraph below) so that's probably not relevant. Shad and Keveh are fairly close together timezone-wise, but Ryu's a tiny bit further out west right:awesome:?

After trying to skype with B's friend the other night and losing the call several times, I have concluded that I will not be able to be the recording person. The-one-that-does-not-make-it-to-the-end can obviously not do that. I may need to forego any involvement in the actual podcast.

I could give you questions to ask Cab, but a) the podcast has never really ended up going in a Q & A-ish direction, b) I'm shite at thinking them up:lol:. I am tempted, though, to thumbsuck a few just so I can throw "Shademp, will you marry me?" in there.

Q: What is this site anniversary you mention Airling? The frontpage anniversary was a few weeks ago, so is it the forum turning six years old shortly?

--------

Note: I do like the "no dilly-dallying" intent, but if the point behind the podcast is to share reactions on the frontpage articles then there is some reading people have to catch up on. Especially if they read Squall_of_SeeD's final LTD work (which took me days to finish, because I'm a medium slow reader and I was proof-reading).

I suggest a later weekend. Maybe at some point in the 25-26 October weekend or the 1-2 November weekend.

--------

The podcast will also work best if the site contributors are there to comment. If Tres is present, he can share his thoughts on these articles and what made him create them (of course allowing other podcast participators to chime in and react). After his articles are cleared, we can move on to mine. Really, Tres could make the podcast into something really special. The only risk with this format is that it might end up too interview-y and some may think this defeats the purpose of a podcast. Opinions pls.

--------

- Fan novelization continues: I know from reading only short excerpts that the work by S&G is awesome, but if nobody in the podcast has actually read one of his novels then it'd be quite embarrassing to have this item on the podcast list.

Let's pencil in 25/26 October. Sunday is better for me too. I think Tres needs to be pulled in to amp up the sexy and Ryu is needed cos it's just mandatory. Keveh, I think you are essential!

Airling, we're already married, all we're missing is the legality; a trifling oversight.
(Edit: Also the podcast should be serious business imo, not my imaginary love life! )

Won't be around from the 24th to the 26th/27th, possibly longer as I'll be down in Dublin that weekend visiting my girlfriend and going to some sort of ball for charity :monster:

Fire ahead with it though :D

Sorry, you're right. Derp.

Good point. Let's go with what Cab said, tentatively go with 25/26 Oct and see who's caught up to what reading where.

That is exactly the sort of podcast I had in mind, although I don't think a TLS podcast could ever be interview-y^_^. And, yes he would. You two have been the busiest bees this year, so you have a lot to add.

Is truth. I was wondering the same thing about the french translations. Not sure if it'll interest too many of the listeners, and even if it does, there's an article with an interview with the actual translators on the front page. We can't really add to that can we?
I'm going to edit the post with the possible discussion points and put a strikethrough on those.

Thank you for your participation guys!

Sound issues tend to pop up in group Skype calls, so the best chances are if multiple participators record. Should be easy enough, either by using Audacity or a Skype recording software (which I have had and been referred to, but not used in two years :P ).
