Pokémon Go!

As much as this game is pretty cool to play with(along with the new Sailor Moon Drops IOS game), I hate to break it to you guys, but I heard in reports that four teenagers got robbed by thieves after being lured with Pokemon GO itself since they were lead to strangers' houses.

Not to mention that it's not a good idea to play the game while crossing the road.

Just thought I'd give you guys out there who have the game some warning.

You don't exactly have to be in the same exact location as the Pokemon to get the Pokemon though (or at the Pokemon Stop) though -- For instance, there's 3 Pokemon stops right across the street from my apartment, but I can easily grab items from there without having to leave my room. I've had Pokemon spawn in other people's apartment and I don't have to leave my room to catch them too.

So I don't really see why people would make the effort to go tell a stranger "hey there's a pokemon in your house, can I come in?" when the Pokemon radar doesn't require you to enter someone's house to catch it (If they do, and they get mugged, that's sadly their fault)

That being said, last night I kept going out because my radar kept telling me there was a Gastly 3 footsteps away and no matter what direction I went in, I could never get any closer to it.

I. WANT. MY. GASTLY.

HATE YOU. :@

Just kidding. But seriously, the radar needs to be more...accurate cause it just feels like I'm playing Chocobo Hot and Cold, only to more annoying levels because I have to actually move around.

My area consists almost entirely of Normal, Ground, and Fire Pokemon, being a desert and all. I would assume that Water and Grass types can be found by the river.

So something really freaky happened. I had just gotten out of work and passed by a purified water store, and I ran into a Goldeen.

Guys, you can play this where it's not released on pretty much any phone. On both iOS and Android anyway.

It's not out in the UK yet but I'm playing it on my iPhone. I just changed my phone's region settings to US, used a fake US address to create an Apple account, then logged in with that and downloaded it. After that you can log in to your normal account and play. Trust and believe, it works (and will work for any other country too, i.e. Canada @Channy :P).

If you have an Android phone you can just download the .apk from t'internet and install it. Not 100% sure on the process but it should be easier than making a fake account on iOS to access the US app store XD.
I've heard that they're going to ban people who use work arounds to get it early. I doubt it, but I'd rather not risk it

The combat is so uninspired, I really can't bring myself to care about gyms or my team. I picked red because Red was my first pokemon game. The hot lady silhouette didn't hurt, either. But that's as far as I cba. :monster:

Meh... I was going to download this damn thing just to see what all the fuss was about. Apparently it's not compatible with a Samsung Galaxy S2. Guess I'll have to wait until I can afford to upgrade.

PSA: Keep this open if you're hunting a specific Pokémon.

You walk in one direction, and look at how it moves up/down in the list and walk other directions accordingly. After figuring this out, my girlfriend and I haven't failed AT ALL in locating a Pokémon in the area that we're looking for.

Related: The most fun is tracking down something like a Snorlax, and then helping to direct other people in the park/wherever to where it's at.

Lastly, I was in a parking lot yesterday afternoon, and there was a Hitmonlee in front of the Happy Sumo restaurant and a Hitmonchan in front of the Thai Basil restaurant right next to it. Too perfect.

You may be able to download the app onto your computer, and manually install it. I was able to do that with my S3, and it runs perfectly (or at least better than my brother's brand new iPhone, lol.)

Apparently if you throw the Pokeballs with a curve it will increase your odds.

Insofar as I've been able to tell, the Curve, Nice, Good, Great all just seem to give various XP bonuses rather than actual advantages when catching. Also - I dun wanna waste Great Balls on regular Pokémanz. :3

No luck there either, unfortunately.

It's been a good day for catching old Pokémon from the show near and dear to my heart.

I already had Pidgey and Pidgeotto ('cause they're fucking everywhere), but then I caught a Pidgeot in a parking garage at Target, a Psyduck while passing a community college, a Pikachu while sitting down eating lunch at Chik-fil-A, and Ekans and Jigglypuff in Walmart.

I also encountered Arbok in Walmart, but he got away.
