Going to see if my brother fancies going for a walk or two this weekend because I know he'd be all over this if he knew it existed (I actually don't know if he does). In the meantime, I'm going to be seeing what I can catch on my way to and from work. :awesome:

Jesus christ. At first I was like 'this isn't really going to grab me much'. 3 hours later I'm running around the house, going to the park, and all around the houses nearby trying to catch Pokemon with a friend. Oh how wrong was I?

So here's the results of my first night with PGo.

I found the Kingler surprisingly, along with a couple Krabbys which I sacrificed to make Lord K mightier. The one cut off is just a Zubat

Nice. I'd take a screenshot of mine, but there's way too many to fit on one or even two or three screens. I have 88 Pokémon total of 43 varieties.

Finally acquired the last of the four starters -- one each of Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander; two Pikachus.

^every little helps :monster:

I wanted to get this, even though I'm not really into Pokemon I thought it was an interesting idea, but my phone is so steggy it isn't compatible. So no leaving the house for me :sadpanda:

I too would Like a doduo, I caught an Abra before just sat here at my desk and whilst on my lunch at work a fucking Vaporean appeared, I was so excited. Looking at buying USB charger/batterypack for my phone as my I managed to use 60% of my battery on my trek to work this morning.

I did get off a few stops before my normal stop to try and catch some pokémon. God this game is addictive.

What team is everyone on, I'm repping Team Instinct

Also I'll gladly part with my first child for a Growlithe or Arcanine.

I managed to get a Growlithe last night. It seems that the entire property my workplace is on doesn't load Pokémon. I don't know if this has something to do with it being a government facility or if the equipment here interferes with signal (cell phone calls can randomly drop).

Whatever the case, the sign at the entrance is a PokéStop, so I will occasionally go out there to use it, and if a Pokémon loads out by the road, it will be something truly random. Maybe the sketchy loading confuses what topography we're supposed to have (mostly grass). Cubone, Magikarp, Bulbasaur, Growlithe, Vulpix, Tangela, Clefairy, Tauros, Horsea, Jigglypuff, Pidgey, Rattata. There's no rhyme or reason. Two of those are even fire types!

I get the same kind of random ass results when using a Lure Module at the PokéStop or if I use Incense while on the property -- which is the only way I've found thus far to cause a Pokémon to actually appear here (since Incense seems to draw Pokémon directly to your avatar rather than the vicinity).

Game finally launched here today, downloaded it and went to sign on and the servers crashed.

They've been down all afternoon for me ¬_¬

I have now downloaded the game and I started out by picking Squirtle. Will begin playing seriously on Monday, when I am done visiting the family. =)

I got it too, yey. I did talk my dad through Ingress earlier today though (again, the man has a short memory). Should've checked if the pokemanz game was available already then, but, I was a bit hungover :monster:

Dark Knight of the Red Wings
I decided to give it a try. It's a pretty good mindless time waste when I have nothing else to do. There's two Poke Stops about a half a block from my house and there are constantly people hanging out over there setting up shit to attract Pokemon to that location. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get anything other than Pidgey, Rattata, and Weedle to appear with any regularity. I finally caught an Eevee while I was grocery shopping today.

The game is fun. However, I do wish they had incorporated the ability to fight and level up your Pokemon in random encounters. Oh well.

I'm not sure if I wanna try out the game or not.

But even if I did download it, I'd never be silly enough to quit my job just to play it, like some other guy did.

If anyone hasn't heard yet, I know that games can be distracting, but to the point of even quitting your job? That's just downright ridiculous.

Thanks to Pokémon GO I have finally figured out how Wi-Fi works. :monster: I have survived without Wi-Fi until yesterday.

The annoying thing now is that I'm unable to login to the game. Server problems, apparently. Not a very reliable game to get together a group of friends for, what-with the server problems.

I live in the town he intended to "purge". Jesus fucking christ.

edit:

Worth noting that in his original facebook post there was a photo of a handgun in his hand. The implication being that the "modified paintball gun"thing he mentioned was just an extra dumb ass way to try and mask that he was talking about using a real gun.

Dear lord people are so obsessed with hating this game to an absurd degree.

It's like, but why? It's just a fucking game calm down.

I have now experienced the magic of Pokémon GO, after some server issues.

- Out of eight Poké Stops, only two gave me anything: Some balls and an egg. The rest of the Poké Stops it seemed like the mobile just couldn't load any info for. Maybe server issues or maybe the stop needs more location data to draw from?

- Saw two wild Pokémon, both Drowzees. Wasn't able to get into battle with them. First I thought you had to walk up close to the Drowzees. Didn't work. I clicked on the Drowzees. Nothing happened and then they disappeared. Could be server issues again and/or the aiming for when you click on the Pokémon has to be precise.

- Encountered a stranger who was playing Pokémon GO and we chatted a bit. I shared the tip of downloading an offline map to reduce battery consumption from the use of Google Maps (though I still haven't learned if I have to actively disable something else) and she shared some gameplay info, since she started playing yesterday and had a bit more experience. At the end I gave her my call card with links to TLS, my youtube channel and my facebook page. :monster:

Pokémon GO! Bringing people together!

- Incense was fucking useless. XD

Also, the maps thing actually working seems to still be up for debate. Scroll down to the end of the article. :(
This would not surprise me, as me and the stranger did discuss and agree that it sounds a bit odd that battery consumption would decrease, since Google Maps is still running anyway.

EDIT:
From what I hear, incense isn't meant to work if you are sitting still. Incense works better the faster you go.
The entire game works better the faster you go! You get to Pokéstops and Pokémon quicker.

I had my bike with me this evening when I played. A bit cumbersome at times to drag the bike around, other times really convenient when you want to move fast from point A to point B.
