I feel really bad for making this post, since a day ago I literally said I was 100% for this apartment idea, but is it possible to give me some time tomorrow/tuesday before I confirm this idea? I'm really sorry guys. ;___; I need to think on some personal things first and have been really stressed and busy lately and haven't had time to collect my thoughts.
If people wanna book it now without me and not wait around anymore, I fully understand. Ugh I hate to make this post, feels like I'm letting everyone down. ;-;

Since we have two people who can't realistically book until the 24th, we may be waiting until then anyway. But I know not everyone wants to wait until then. I'd prefer not to myself, but these things happen. Thanks for letting us know.

I wouldn't mind waiting until the 24th if people aren't able to before then. And if the apartment doesn't work out by that think then so be it I guess. I won't be able to afford the apartment if too many more people drop out so it's better to wait I think. But I agree with the sentiment it would be best to get it sorted sooner rather than later, in case the apartment gets booked or whatever.

Let's just try to get this sorted out as best as we can and if not, I'm sure most of us have a backup plan anyway

How much moneys do you need? I can help pay in advance, those lot can pay me back later. Mind you, converting monies is suboptimal.

As I said, £185/€208/$243 per head is the latest figure for nine people, though I don't know how much of that Lex and Kimble would be able to pay now.

The amount will go up slightly if people drop out, but not as much as you might think, since most of the apartment's fee is on a per-person basis anyway. With that said, if we were to drop below seven people, we might want to look at other places, since the apartment we're currently looking at (here's a link again since a couple of people have asked) has seven beds.

Organising shared accommodation for multiple people in multiple countries and timezones with varying schedules and budgets is kinda tricky. Who knew?

Having just been skimming through the thread the last month to watch the shenanigans unfold, as well as trying to help you out that one day, I gotta say Flint you've had a lot of patience with trying to organize everything for everybody. Give yourself a pat on the back, seriously.

I booked my flights. I'll be arriving on Sunday the 28th of January, staying with my parents for a few days, then coming to London on Thursday the 1st of February and flying home a week later, on Thursday the 8th. Both flights are to/from Gatwick airport.

I'll definitely be popping into London at least once before the 1st to visit my grandmother so if any of you locals (relatively speaking) have time to grab a drink, hit me up.

The apartment we were looking at is now unavailable on Saturday the 3rd of February, i.e. the night of Pomingham Palace. So that's out.

Ami, Cacti, Carlie, Kev, Minato and I have all been ready and waiting to book something for some time now. Lex said he'd be ready to book today/tomorrow. I'm going to suggest that the six or seven of us try to book something else as soon as possible, and if it proves impossible, abandon the whole idea. Lex, are you in?

I want to apologize to everyone who’s been interested in this whole apartment idea. At least in part because of me, that one apartment is out now. I feel pretty crappy about the whole thing. I backed out right before it was going to be booked (I know a couple people didn’t have the funds until tomorrow anyways but still) and have been trying to figure out some big life decisions the past couple weeks, on top of which life seems pretty determined to throw as much as it can at me to take up basically all my time.
I really apologize I’m going to decide some things tonight I guess and be done with those big decisions. I can make a post tomorrow here about my plans, I promise. Ugh I’m such a blah friend.

See tbh for the benefit of the people travelling here from the US I had assumed the apartment had already been booked - when I said I wouldn't be able to pay til the 24th and that I was OK with not being included in the apartment your following post re: getting the ball rolling with email addresses gave me that impression.

I'm happy to sort my own accommodation, go ahead and book without me .

That post you were referring to was because you said it was fine to book without you, not because it had been booked already. I should have been clearer but it didn't occur to me that you might get that impression.

Nah I know that, I knew that your post meant it was in the process of being booked without me, what I meant was that I assumed it had been discussed and booked behind the scenes/ outwith this thread. I was shocked today to learn that it in fact, had not

Just realised I made a thread that's now run to fifteen pages.

Ami, Cacti, Flare, Kev, Minato and I have now booked an apartment through AirBNB. It's about a kilometre away from the Royal National as the crow flies and about one and a half to walk. Not all of us will be there for every night.

There's still a bit of money kerfuffle to sort out but I'm glad to have this sorted at long last. It's two months tomorrow until I fly to England.
