I don't like my zombies/horror things in shitty environments like submarines or snowy wastelands, or some secluded stereotypical-looking laboratory. Though its been done to death, I like my zombies/horror things in residential areas, even if those residential areas are not so modern or western. Just something I can vaguely relate to. Tis why the house in RE1, the city in RE2, and the intro area to RE4, I found so interesting and scary etc. I didn't bother buying RE5, though it looked like some of that was based in an African town, but it didn't look interesting from the demo I played because of another thing I don't like: too many zombies etc, aka overkill. I like dealing with a few zombies at a time whom appear in unexpected areas with limited ammo and resources available to me. A stealth zombie game would be even better, MGS4 meets RE =p.
Also, interesting characters with a developed storyline would be nice. There isn't much of that in RE. The gameplay from that video looks horrible. The dogs were jumping all over him, but not attacking for quite some time. I've seen non-zombie dogs more vicious than that IRL! Controls look shit too.
