Really made you want to avoid getting killed because of the awful shit that would happen to Leon, now dying is just the same as any other game.

Also, why can't people be dismembered anymore? Like in RE3. That one had the goriest dismemberments so far I think. I liked blowing up zombies and seeing their body parts flying around.

That's why Leon and RE4 pwns. The sheer variety and absurdity of some of his deaths make playing with him fun yet very personal.

My favorite deaths were:

1.) Getting zapped in the laser corridor.
2.) Getting facially impaled by a Garrador.
3.) Getting shot by Luis. "Adios Leon..."
4.) Getting sliced in half by the pendulums.
5.) Decapitated by Dr. Salvador.

I mean, those were some of the best deaths. But holy shit, I remember those dismemberment in RE3. Pretty fucked up. I loved how in RE2 you saw your character get chewed and like...gang raped by a group of zombies and just...it was like some terrible zombie porno movie or something in the end.

Yeah, RE2 had some nice deaths too.
Like, when G knocked you down, and you waited too long to get up, he'd just smash your back with that fucking pipe and break your spine.
The T-103 could do the same, just that he used his foot, I think.

Also, sometimes you could sever a zombie's torso from its lower body when shooting it with a shotgun from a close distance. Lol.

Like DMC2, it's an okay standalone game but disappointing compared to the rest of the series.
At least the final battle was much better than RE4's. RE4 had a lame finale.

CV seemed to focus more on cut-scenes/plot. Angsty Steve, and cute ClaireSteve moments. That's why it's one of my favorites, you gore-whores. :> The Tyrant sucked! And I thought Alexia was a hard boss. (Especially if you don't give Chris any items during your first play through. )

That's why Leon and RE4 pwns.

Chris tried to copy him. Going from a scrawny wuss, to a badass. Though, Chris was never as wussy as Leon. (I kind of blame the bad voice acting) I liked shooting the water with Leon, and having that water monster come out and devour him. You'll have to excuse me for not remembering ugly's name. The first time I saw Leon's head get chain-sawed off, I was a bit in shock. Too bad that couldn't happen for Chris.

And the story is what makes CV one of my favorite parts. Also, Alexia and Alfred were rather good villains. They weren't just "there" with no true role whatsoever apart from becoming a boss monster, like Irving and Excella.

Alfred had this somewhat hilarious batshit-insanity to him and Alexia was fucking creepy. Also, CV: X's ending is my favorite in the series. Most of the time, the endings of the RE games are just over way too quickly. Stuff explodes, they fly into the sunset, over. The original CV ending was like that too.
But CV:X added that whole Wesker fight which I liked. =p

And Leon was not wussy. C'mon. Being a rookie cop during the outbreak of Raccoon City is a pretty fucking huge leap in terms of action. And he definitely got some hair on his chest from it. Leon is just win. Period. The only person who pwns as much as him would probably be Jill Valentine or Ada.

That Wesker fight was pretty cool too..but I'm thinking RE5's showdown surpasses it

I was rofling when Claire called Alfred a cross-dressing freak and he got all pissy. Alfred was extremely hilarious, and couldn't aim worth a damn. Hey, that reminds me... Nosferatu was creepy as all hell. I didn't think Alexia was creepy, I actually thought her mutant form was pretty. 8D I must be insane too...

CVX had a sad ending. Really, it broke my heart. And I haven't played the original CV, is Wesker beating the snot out of Claire the only difference? (Or were you talking about a different Wesker fight?)

And Mako, Ada certainly does have Leon wrapped around her little finger. ;D Disagree, I thought Leon did a personality 180 when I played 4. XD

In the original CV, Wesker doesn't beat up Claire (they don't even meet), Wesker comes off as much weaker in the confrontation with Alexia (since she basically slaps him twice and sends him flying across the room and he's like "What power! D=" and fucks off) and the whole final confrontation Chris vs Wesker isn't present either (in CVX, the ending FMV was interrupted by the Wesker scenes. In the original, it was a single video and Chris ran straight towards the elevator).

Ah, the original. THE reason I got a Dreamcast.

Leon didn't do a 180, he just grew up and got experience. I mean, hell..after going through that shit in Raccoon City and taking down G-Virus Birkin with Claire, do you REALLY think a bunch of crazy Spanish Ganados and Las Plagas monsters was gonna freak him out or make him piss himself? Really?

Hell fucking no. He's not only a trained Government agent, but the fucker's gone through one of the most fucked up viral outbreaks in Resident Evil's history. It's gonna take a lot more than a mob of crazy Spaniards to make him lose his cool.

Same goes to Chris Redfield and stuff. That's why I hope that in another Resident Evil game, we'll get a new, inexperienced character so we can get some more horror and terror again. Because while playing with old characters is fun, you can't really go the whole fear/surprise route because they've played this game before. Killing zombies and BOWs is what they do.

I don't think RE games have a change language option. RE doesn't, and RE4 didn't. But at least the cheesy acting is still in English

I remember RE4 was censored, Leon's head wouldn't be chopped off or anything. That live-action video at the start of RE might be as well. I don't take much notice if it's just something small, really

I wanted CV, but I never got around to buying it. And now I don't have the money for it, really. Which is pathetic, because it's probably cheap now

That is pretty sad though. Oh well, I'm sure we'll get numerous Resident Evil spinoffs and stuff to past the time until the main installment comes out.

But think about it. It was 5 years between Code Veronica and Resident Evil 4, so its really not that big of a surprise that it'd take that long. I mean, it sucks but deal with it. That's what its been like before. And better for them to take their time and make a good game like they usually do, than rush it and fuck it up royally.

The wait is worth it.
