On the pro side... Twilight could have been a good book had somebody else wrote it. Someone who can actually write and give character development.

No it couldn't have. There's no potential way a vampire stalker can be made into a good book unless it ends with him eating his victim.

Twilight is a good book and it's been written by plenty of other people. Pick up any other Vampire oriented book and tell me it's not revolving around a love story. It'so so generic and over done, really the only thing unique about Twilight is that they sparkle. And that's only because she didn't research what Vampires are actually like.

The only time I really did any research on vampires was when the character Bella did research on vampires. Because I was creating my own world, I didn't want to find out just how many rules I was breaking.

Wouldn't it have been easier to create something new and not take a pre-existing lore and fuck it up?

Go for it! I didn't plan to start a new career when I did this, and it took a lot of courage to send out those query letters. I sent 15, and I got nine rejection letters, five no responses and one person who wanted to see me. If it's something you enjoy, put the determination and will behind it and see what happens.

Generally, if you don't want to be published, it's best to stop before you're sending out query letters to publishers No one's going to break into your home and publish your manuscript against your will if it's locked away in a drawer.

I can give you ten times better the Twilght Vamp/ Human love story in a series that isn't even primarily about it.

Dresden Files.
In a later book, there is a character who is an emotional vampire- I mean that literally, BTW, He does with emotions what other vampires do with blood- he is in love with one of his common prey. Eventually, as this vampire is struck from his clan for his deeds, it is brought to the knowledge of the narrator that this vampire cannot be with his true love any longer because such a thing is LITERALLY PHYSICALLY DESTRUCTIVE to him, and yet he still wishes to be with her.

And that's without going the narrator's romance with a girl who gets vamp'd by a more normal type.

Hell, though, Vampire Hunter D makes better vampire romance lit than twilight, and it's not even romance lit!

That's the hilarious thing- IT'S NOT ABOUT THAT!

The first one goes as such.

Woman has been bitten by local vampire lord, implores a wanderer, a vampire hunter, to destroy him before she is fully turned. As it turns out, wanderer is D, who must protect the woman, defeat the vampire, and his hoards, AND save the woman from herself, all while dealing with the problem of being a Dhampir himself.

It's just awesome. Check Mininova or some other place for a copy. You'll not be dissapointed.
Now, the third book/ second movie is about Vamp/Human love, but even then not in the same way.

Well what I meant by separating the movies from the anime I guess, is that most anime movies don't have much to contribute to plot and can be watched on their own without knowing the anime.
