This is the Hand as I was hoping they'd be from the beginning, we get a five person team of multiple personalities, and it ties in with the lore pretty well (although until something contradicts it, I'm headcanoning that Bakuto is someone's annoying little brother that got dragged along with them, he's a bit of an embarrassment compared to the rest of them.) If we had something like this in DD2, It would be so much better, although I suppose then they couldn't use it again now.
Makes a lot of sense that the immortality juice is dragon blood/bone marrow/something, and also why that's so horrific to K'un L'un. It even makes sense that they sealed the sacred animals rather than destroyed them.
They spent the right amount of time getting the team together, first four episodes very strong. Danny trying to fight his way out of the warehouse was a little out of character for all of them.
There was a bit of 'what the hell is going on' in the large fight scenes, and I feel they didn't make use of their powers as well as they could, but it was serviceable enough.
I will miss Gao, assuming she's dead, she was a wonderfully pragmatic villain
'leave town and move to China. Take that, TV budget!' that didn't play by the usual superhero story rules.
Very enjoyable show. No major missteps.
I wish the Defenders were slightly better at saving NPCs, though.
Not entirely surprised re Matt, he was in the immortality room.
