I did that, it's probably all Aerith-hating Cloti lies so don't bothe---

wait a minute.

If anything you have the most unbiased views when it comes to translating the hard facts. If its trustworthy enough to be hosted on the frontpages, its good enough to be brought up in debates.

I'm positive if things went off into the CxA direction, it wouldn't get butchered.

For a video game pairing.

Aerith is clearly a love interest because of the definition of Love Triangle :monster:
Let's leave it at that.

If there was no Compilation of FFVII you could easily say she was a love interest, but no. You can't now, given the meta-context of all the works of FFVII, and the creator commentary that we have. That's not the reality of the story.

Aerith was not a love interest. She was merely a possibility. A possibility that did not happen.

The LTD exists because some people chose Aerith the Red Herring, stuck with it, and because there was no other creator commentary and extent works, saw that to be the true ending, and were none the wiser. There was nothing at all to truly challenge their interpretation of the story.

These cards were made before the Compilation existed though.

Good glad we agree.

but if you think that Aerith loved Cloud more than Zack, then these quotes are important.
I agree. Especially since it says Aeris sees traces of Zack in Cloud and develops a liking for him.

Note that #65 talks a lot about Aeris' fate in relation to her heritage. It is her meeting with Cloud that sets her on the path to fulfilling her destiny as the last remaining Cetra.
And of course it's gonna mention Cloud & talk about her relation to the protagonist of the fucking game. DUH.

@ love interest:

I would use it loosely for Aeris, because although she is presented as a potential love interest (she has an interest in Cloud), and to a certain extent the game allows you to make a choice of reading more into their interactions, but like Cloud being a SOLDIER, the game's revelation does not support it in the end.

Pfft, Mako posts before me.

If you bothered to play past Disk1, the game doesn't either

She was a love interest.

Was, in that she was in FF7, and is no longer.

The point is these were made before the Compilation so they might have had a different meaning for some of the cards back then.

and where'd my back up go? :(

EDIT
OH thanks Zee, and I agree :awesome:

and where'd my back up go?

Back to the depth of lurk hell.

I could repost my waver quote by someone within the company, but I fear it shall again be ignored. :awesome:

Awesome level to awesome for some eyes.

Inorite?

I was never saying Aerith is a love interest NOW, just that she was in the game...

Your awesome~ waver quote wasn't ignored. She WAS a potential love interest that never happened as the story progressed and we were told not all was as it seemed.

Fucking Nojima put her in completely hypothetical terms. What's your point?

The point is she was a love interest in the game... that's all. That's the ONLY thing me and Shu and Zee want to get across here.

Fucking Nojima put her in completely hypothetical terms.
I wasn't aware that Nojima was that sexually active.

I think the problem stems from the use of "love interest". I think we're using it with different meanings in mind. No one denies Aeris was involved in a love triangle. What I deny is that she was the object of Cloud's affections :)

As I said:

The second half of the game would like to have a word with you.

I said "truly." As in definitely say "no, Aerith is not the one." Cleriths have conveniently looked past the whole High Affection scene of the Highwind by brushing it off with the "it's only optional" brush. With there being no commentary or extent works to cement it as the one true ending, they used that argument and hid behind it.

There wasn't an AC, creator commentary, or the whole 20th Anniversary FF Scenario Ultimania to say "no, the high affection version is canon, you're wrong." That's a huge ass difference.

Same here. Hence her being a mere possibility. A possible love interest in terms of Cloud and his feelings.

It seems that DF has been updated - not really an update, but here's the highlight :monster:

Then suddenly, Nomura stood up to unzip his pants. He unzipped several layers of pockets until he zipped open an actual pocket. Inside the pocket were three belts. After he undid each one, he slowly reached inside and took out a swiss army knife.

mah, I'm bored don't judge :awesome:
