I thought he was an adult (or at least a teenager) when he first met Aerith as a young girl? Did that change with Crisis Core?
He was, but Aerith's age at that point is never detailed. Granted, Tseng's age isn't ever detailed Either, but he's definitely depicted as a whole to be in the same age grouping as- maybe only a few years older than- Zack. I suppose he could as old as 30, but that strikes me as unlikely. If Aerith is 12 in the flashback and he 15, for example, then he'd be 25 in the 'main' line of the first game.
This just in, Cloud's mother is a figment of his imagination.
Cloud actually lived in that house Alone for 13 and a half years.
Also gotta love how they're (as in mostly cali's dupes) trying SO HARD to shoot down every significant CxT moment in the thread where they're looking for romantic CxT moments. "No, that one doesn't show CLOUD'S feelings, we're looking for just evidence of Cloud's feelings. But let's add Cait Sith's prediction and Cloud's mother telling him to date an older girl to the Clerith side of the list. Even though Cloud says not interested to his mother (who is a figment of his imagination BTW) this is her endorsing Aerith as a choice for Cloud, so it counts."
lol what?
Double. Standards. QED.
Seriously, Cloud's feelings re:Tifa are demonstrated a whole hell of a lot, even if some only make sense in retrospect, during FF7.
Oh lordy, the LTD was much more fun when I was a mere spectator. I don't know the scripts off by heart, I've only played this game four times, but I thought
a) a degree of uncertainty about his level of affection for Tifa was programmed into the game
Uncertainty about it from our end, I would say sure. We're not meant to realize it at first. Like I say a lot, the game is meant to lead you in one direction, slam you in the face with a dead end sign, and make you reconsider the meaning of the signs you've been picking up, and whether or not some of them were signs to begin with.
b) even if the level of attraction is not in doubt, the strength and depth of his emotional attachment to her could easily be unclear to him. His mental state is rather foggy to begin with. And she's not just some casual pick-up. He had an intense crush on her as a kid but there's been a whole lot of ugly water under the bridge since then. OK, some guys wouldn't think too hard about where the relationship was going, they'd just take what they could get and enjoy it, but is Cloud like that?
Cloud isn't the type to 'just take what he could get an enjoy it.' But mostly because he couldn't JUST enjoy it. Again, like I say ALOT, being worthy of his good fortune is a big thing Cloud has to deal with. "The Happier he gets, the more the regrets of the past weigh on him" "The happier he is, the lonelier he gets" natch.
Strength of attraction is often immediately apparent. Awareness of the depth of one's feelings usually takes more time to become clear. That's what I meant by suggesting the word 'unclear'.
In that Cloud is unaware of himself, I think that's fair enough, but I'm not quite sure 'unclear' is still a good word to use, weighted as it is with additional meanings.
When the day is cloudy, the sky's not clear.
But the Cloud is plain as day.
Ba Dum Tish
Also, if anyone thinks a name like Cloud is bad, it could be worse. It could be Cloid. That's a real given name. As is Blueberries.
About this Alex guy:
I`m very new to the LTD therefore I don`t know him. But since his theory about people shipping a lesbian couple in order to fantasize having a long term 3some-relationship and making a lot of babies with (hopefully) good genes with them, I`m pretty convinced that he must be sniffing “something”.
Alex's drug habits have never been confirmed, but I think he might be quite coked out on religion. He's quite religiously minded.
