"meetign her again...that is my dream" does exist. The bit about the staff wanting Nomura to retract it doesn't. That is mostly because Nomura never said that.

The Clerii went on and on in the beginning and actually thought it was a quote from the movie, because when the guy who writes for that overly yellow place wrote hsi review, he spiced up the dialogue a bit, which was later shown to be bs anyway when other people wrote their reviews of the 1st screenings.

That's what I'm saying. It was a simple magazine blurb written by whoever wrote the article (might have been Famitsu) way before AC even came out. Nomura certainly never said it and no one ever asked him to take anything out. If anything, Nojima is always writing shit about Cloud/Tifa and Nomura keeps going "dude, stop being so fucking blatant about it".

It's probably one of those scans. This site was one of the first to blatantly make up shit about AC when it was first released and the owner/writer is an Aeris/Cleris fanboy (or girl).

Yeah, I found it. There's the dream thing, but there's no indication that Nomura said or prompted it.

I think people have taken this out of context. It was just a caption in a magazine. There were no quotation marks, no one's name was attached to it.

It sounds fine in English, but that's because you can't see that it was originally a mishmash of two languages (彼女との再会…　それがMy Dream). Cloud isn't the kind of character who would speak like that, and I doubt Nomura would either.

And now OWD has posted a link to scans, you can see that there's no quotes or comments from Nomura or any of the staff there.

Do you have a source for this comment about other staff reaction to this? I'm guess it would be referring to something else, but has been mistakenly taken to apply to this.

I'm late to the party, but I just wanted to say that the ignorance about how magazines and other publications work makes me sad.

When a studio is ready to market a movie, they release a bunch of stills in a media packet to any number of publications. That's why you'll see the same pictures pop up in several different magazines. It's the magazine staff's responsibility to fill in the space around the pictures with text, though the photos may come over with a generic caption. That "meeting her again" stuff is an example of magazine staff editorializing. The creative team behind SE has nothing to do with the text printed in a magazine, and I'm amused that anyone would think they have the time or the inclination to do so. They aren't magazine publishers, they're game designers!

If a magazine had actual quotes/an interview with the designers, they'd say so. That would be a big deal, something all the other magazines who received the media packet may not have. Thus, quotes from SE staff members would be clearly marked and highlighted.

I just have to shake my head and laugh whenever people say Nomura had anything to do with that line, or that he later had it removed.

Someone said that Cloud and Tifa had alot of material together in that game, is that true?

Sadly, I think I'll wait until I hear more about it, because this is the first I've ever heard about Nomura thinking it was Cloud's dream to meet Aerith.

Oh, I've seen this quote before. It's from a magazine, isn't it? I heard that this was a removed line in Advent Children. Where Cloud says "Meeting her is my dream" or something like that. Look, what's official is what counts and makes the cut. That's really all there is to it. And even if this quote were official, assume that the Ultimania and everything else stays the same. The picture used for the "Meeting her is my dream" quote, is the one where they are standing back to back in the flowerfields. Now, what does the Ultimania tell us about Aerith in that scene? That she is like a Mother to Cloud, and that she is a Mother to the planet. Nothing that suggest love, just her deep concern for Cloud, and his desire for forgiveness.

Lmao, Itadeki Street is the most hilarious bit of proof to me. Rapids spaz out because Aerith and Cloud are seen together, and while they acknowledge that Tifa is in the game, they claim she is NEVER seen together with him interacting. Since they're so big on commercials, they should know that Cloud and Tifa appear in one together, for this game, while Aerith isn't shown at all. They should know that Cloud and Tifa interact in the game (no idea what they're saying tbh, I can't understand Japanese =P) a fine amount. But that's just like them- to preach about a game without playing it.

Clearly, you couldn't listen to the dialogue. There are several implications he's heading back. And of course he's on the road, he runs a delivery service. Considering the art of teleportation has not be perfected, he uses his bike. SHOCKING.

How does Case of Tifa prove he doesn't care about his family? He's dying of a disease and he feels he can't save anyone. In fact, he was out looking for a cure for Denzel BECAUSE he loves his family that much. Unless you think he just did it for the lulz?

Well besides the fact that it's his fucking job to run all over creation. Let's ignore the fact that he shares a bed with Tifa. Or that he specifically rearranges his schedule to be with his family more. That just screams 'miserable' to me.
