Ah, yes. Mei is the ultimate stalker... I almost forgot. I feel the same about Cloud's light not only being a parallel to AC, but to FFVII as well. And if Tifa is NOT his light, she certainly awakened it inside of him. Her light didn't blind him to the point where he was annoyed and couldn't accept it. :B Whoever thinks that is just being blind themselves.

Aerith has NOTHING to do with the light business. Official quotes say so, so some people should just get over it imo.

I saw that Resident Evil film (animated one) the other week, but watching the trailers I thought it was pretty misleading. Apart from the whole 'putting lines of dialogue where they don't appear in the film' thing, they all seemed to pretty much focus on Leon and Claire, and Angela was barely there despite playing a large role in the film itself.

I'm sure there's more examples, but seeing that reminded me of this

Aerith does live inside Cloud. I have proof! Cloud is infused with Mako. Mako is lifestream. And Cloud has a lot of it in his body. And Aerith lives in the lifestream. Therefor she can live on inside him!

This makes much more sense than the dead living on in the memories of the living. Get with the program people!

I was having a discussion with a (cool/not rabid) Clerith the other day and she made a valid point that Cloud talks a lot about Aerith and meeting Aerith again after her death in the original game. Granted he has the scenes with Tifa too, fair play, but SE were obviously trying to show the real Cloud was very attached to Aerith as much as the ZCloud, and was continuing to think about her and longing to meet her even after her death and his realisation of feelings with Tifa.

The notion that Cloud continues to long for meeting with Aerith again (even into AC) is further backed by a magazine article that was released before AC was out, which had a picture of Cloud and the quote "Meeting her again...that is my dream" as its caption. It was quickly dismissed though as apparently other members of staff complained to Nomura about it "ruining peoples interpretations".

What was Nomura trying to infer exactly, and why would it ruin our interpretations? It's pointing in the direction of Cloud being hung up specifically over Aerith, suggesting Cloud has a more than motherly/symbolic/plantonic attachment to her even into AC. (Afterall the caption said 'her' not 'him and her' and is thus singling out Aerith). This challenges the idea that Cloud only ever had non-romantic feelings for Aerith.

Not really. What are these feelings that Cloud comes to show during the movie? Feelings of guilt, regret, sorrow for a fallen comrade. How was SE exactly 'trying to show,' the real Cloud was attached to Aerith, in a romantic way? The real Cloud blames himself for letting Aerith die, as he does with Zack. No where is it stated that Cloud has a longing to meet with her after she finally releases his guilt, unless you'd like to come and show us that. The reason why he desires to meet up with Aerith is because he wants to be forgiven by her. There is nothing romantic about Cloud's feelings for Aerith throughout the movie. Note that Cloud had these exact same thoughts for Zack, another fallen comrade of his. He feels guilt and sadness for both of them - what comes to show that Cloud's 'feelings,' for Aerith are romantic when Aerith and Zack both make a contribution to Cloud's guilt?

He felt guilty over Zack's death too. Yet Nomura was singling Aerith out as the one he was yearning to meet again. He must of had a more significant attachment to Aerith than a comrade/platonic friendship like he did with Zack. It certainly wasn't hate, it's more logical that it was romantic.
