well, it's not exactly true that the Noldor committed the most atrocities out of all the elves to get where they are. the Feanoreans (who are a particular kind of Noldor, since Feanor is a special case) commited a lot of atrocities because of Feanor being Feanor and because of the Oath. true, Fingolfin and sons took part too at the first kinslaing, but mostly because Fingolfin was trying to make peace with Feanor and becasue Feanor is very good to control people with speeches, especially when there's chaos.
in the Silmarillion iirc Thingol "closed" the Doriath because of Morgoth return, but he never allowed the Noldor to come in (except for Galandriel, who is a special case) so he basically isolated the Sindar much more than he did simply staing in the Beleriand instead of going to valinor.
i think that the best exemple is the confrontation between "pure sindar" and "Sindar/Noldor" mix is Lothlorien (which is a mix of Noldor and Sindar) and Greenwood/Mirkwood (where there are only Sindar so, in my mind at least, is more like "another Doriath").
yeah, i know they can add stuff because there is nobody who can deny if something really happened or not, but this subplot about Legolas and Tauriel (who seem more and more Mary Sue-ish) is totally unnecesary.
