There's an error in that timeline, Testu.

Zelda would never not excuse Link. He can never become a breakfast cereal.

Man, I love the old show, Cheesy and out of step with everything else the series is though it was.

There was a Zelda breakfast cereal, though. I had it once or twice.

It was called Nintendo cereal wasn't it? Like half was Mario and the other was Zelda cereal?

Indeed, my good religiously inclined lizard.

wow how is tp an 'okay' zelda game? it was way better than phantom hourglass jfc

Taste is subjective and many folks thought TP was way overpadded.

Granted, Phantom Hourglass is pretty padded in its own right.

Cool, kinda always suspected that. Nice to see it confirmed.

Although it does seem to be making some fans think that OoT/MM Link became a Stalfos by getting lost in the Lost Woods after Majora's Mask, but that does not make sense for few reasons: 1) adults become Stalfos, and children will become Skull Kids, so Link (still a kid in MM) would have become a Skull Kid if he had gotten lost at the end; 2) Link was able to find the Sacred Forest Meadow on two occasions, and also made it through the Lost Woods and into Termina despite lacking a Fairy; 3) Also, whereas Stalfos are corporeal beings, the Hero's Shade is an ethereal being that apparently requires its own dimension to interact with TP Link.

Plus, the Hero's shade HAD KIDS.

TP Link is HIS DESCENDANT.

But yeah, no big surprise here.

So, does the new compendium have an explanation of how Ganon is taken out in the third branch of the timeline? Does he defeat Link, or what?

Hmmm, perhaps that also lends credit to the theory that OoT Link hooked up with Malon (a rancher), since TP Link started out as a ranch hand?

You mean the the split where OoC Link is defeated by Ganon/Ganondorf? Well, presumably he gets killed in A Link to the Past by ALttP Link (since it is the next game in that split of the timeline. Then he gets revived by Twinrova in the Oracle games and defeated once more, then revived again (I don't know how) for the original Legend of Zelda game, where he is subsequently defeated/killed again.

That's what I figured happened.

Of course, maybe he hooked up with several women. OoT link was apparently an accidental heartthrob.

More specifically, how he got trapped in the dark realm so he could be ended in LttP.

Well, based on the limited info the Hyrule Historia timeline provides after OoT Link is defeated by Ganon/Ganondorf the backstory for ALttP happens and Ganon/Ganondorf is able to get the full Triforce (since he did defeat OoT Link) but gets sealed into the Sacred Realm by the Seven Sages/Wise Men, which he then turns into the Dark Realm because he has the full Triforce.

Ah, it's only issue 2. Oh well. Not like I don't have 'em all already anyways.

Aww, I remember those comics. Just like watching TLoZ cartoon on Fridays.

IIRC that's one of the few places where Link and Zelda are confirmed to be lovers.

Also, this is fairly dated and probably well known to most, but it's the most enjoyable discussion of the Zelda timeline I've ever heard.

That's awesome.

Also, oh good a Zelda thread. Can someone tell me how that fucking minigame in Oracle of Ages works? I can't get past it, and the cryptic instructions are no help. :<
