NO. simple as that it doesn't. The FFVII ending has absolutely nothing to do with KH's themes of darkness and light DO NOT use the FFVII ending as a way to convince anyone of that.

In Kingdom Hearts I, Cloud is searching for someone who is his light (and it is obviously implied that Aerith is his light).

Yes, Kingdom Hearts FM tells us that Sephiroth is Cloud's darkness.

You make it sound like these are two entirely separate games...then let me make it clear. KH:FM is the extended, complete version of KH1 that was only at the time released in Japan and explains things better that were not made as clear in the original game.

KHFM is also getting re-released in the States and Europe as the proper version of KH1 so we'll have all that lovely information to ourselves now. They have also done this with KH2, similar to how FFVII:ACC is the proper completed version of AC. KHFM expands and answers the question of who Cloud was searching for originally, it's answered as Sephiroth, case closed.
