One of my favorites that Angelus did was the one that's split into three parts, one part showing Cloud's tense face, another showing Sephiroth's cool expression and then the bottom that shows the two from a wide angle as they're about to attack each other.

I'll see if I can find it and show you.

...And indeed the "hugging cannister" one is really freaky. xD

I think I remember him posting that one in Sephyism.

It was very good. :)

He also did a bunch for my fanfic the Story of Sephiroth, but after I gave up on the story so did he. I'll see if I can find it and post some of them here.

That's one of them. There's another of him with Jenova and another with him standing on a catwalk. And a bunch more, some colored, some not. IIRC he did chapter 5 and 6 and then some of 1. I just wish he did 3 as that was one of my favorite chapters ever.

I'll have to go poke Ang and get some more.

Those two videos are epic, absolutely epic! Thank you!

Also, I plan to train like a mofo when I get Dissidia so I can wipe everyone out. And of course, the character I will be using will be Sephiroth. :P

And as promised:

You're very welcome.

I've got the whole shebang of chapter 5 and chapter 6 comics but it would take me shitloads of time to link to them all so if you can forgive the unintentional promotion of my own fanfiction I'll link you to it. They are around the bottom of my profile:

http://www.fanfiction.net/~darylfalchion

There's also two pieces by my boyfriend under Sunflare, for my stories Terror. Utter. Raw. Killer. and One Man Army. I'll link up those stories directly (along with the rest) very shortly).

I use to have a shrine on Sephiroth on my webpage but sadly I had to take it down due to some serious html issues, so I can't link that up just yet.

Very nice!

The last three pages of Chapter 5 are astonishing and, at the same time, frightening.

Very nice work, from both of you!

Thank you and I'll pass your comments onto Ang. He doesn't come arond too often (busy with schooling) but I'll drag up whatever else of his extensive Sephiroth collection is out there for you and anyone else interested to see.

Myself I'd like to get back to writing more fanfiction about Sephiroth but I honestly cannot be arsed to write more of the Story of Sephiroth. I'm figuring I'll go back to One Man Army as that was a pretty decent story and it's only a few chapters to boot.

That does bring up an interesting point: what kind of missions do you suppose Sephiroth was sent on?

I’ve been reading some impressions of people who played the Dissidia Demo and it seems Sephiroth had many improvements over the Japanese version. Here’s what I could gather:

-Sephiroth's speed increased overall. He still has a good bit of lag, but not alot. Maybe only half a second.

-Shadow Flare has a new look.

-There’s an aerial version of Flash (Scintilla in the western version). Also, this Aerial Flash has an homing effect, much like Octoslash.

-Iai Strike has a larger Homming effect and it has no lag if you miss. You can dodge out of it immediately.

-Fully charged Black Materia comes out much quicker.

-You can move faster in Heartless Angel, but you must hold R+O.

-You can cancel out of Heartless Angel.

-Hell’s Gate (Prison Gate in the Japanese version) can hit in the air if you land on your opponent in the air.

-Releasing the square button during Hell's Gate makes Sephiroth unleash a slash all around him.

About Sephiroth’s new move, Heaven’s Light:

Heavens Light is an Upward Aerial Slash. It’s an HP attack and it's extremely quick, without any start up lag at all. The move consists of Sephiroth doing a rising slash upwards and then turning around with another slash after that.

Oh, and Sephiroth's "title" went from Blade Master (japanese version) to Focused Blade (western version).

Btw, here's a video of Sephiroth from the Dissidia demo...

(...) I think it's pretty epic.

Indeed!

Quite ironic the fact that
Sephiroth's final blow was Prison Gate/Hell's Gate.

And here's Sephiroth's discription in Dissidia's character selection screen...

[Focused Blade] Uses peerless swordsmanship to deliver precise strikes.

...together with his character profile in Dissidia's Museum:

A lengendary member of Soldier once revered as a hero.

In the original game, after learning that he was the product of genetic experimentation, he decided he was fated to destroy the planet - and he had more than enough power to do so.

During his stint in SOLDIER, he learned well how to slash enemies with a impossibly-long sword. His fighting prowess is perhaps the only thing he values from the time he considered himself to be human.

Where is that from? Its his Dissidia model of course, but I've never seen that.

I found it in the FF Wiki, in Sephiroth's Dissidia page. The user just uploaded this one and Cloud's. Sadly, he didn't upload anyone else's and never said where he got them. :(

As for the artwork itself, it came from

That's Sephiroth at his fucking best. I've always loved his Dissidia outfit the most out of his costumes. It captures his character perfectly.

I prefer the subtle design of the original uniform, specially with its Compilation restyling, but the Dissidia one is far better than those excessive KH uniforms.

Sephiroth Club (blinks) Okay I'm definatly in. I do agree about the religous freaks. I mean lets be realistic. Sephiroth is a figment of a japanese creator's imagination, he has no more real basis than a spoon. But he's a fun doll to play with in my head:D

But I digress. I do enjoy Sephiroth. In my personal opinion, he's an engima of all sorts. No matter how we look into him, deep or on the surface, he still has some sense of mystery. Like, what really goes on in his head while he's maming and killing people. If I had to ask him a question (from a farrrrrrr away distance. Yes I realise he could impale me like orderves being served at his future victory party) it'll go along the lines of something like this:

Okay, so you've finally succeeded in a)killing Cloud(hypothectically) and b) Carroding the planet which you now possess it as a vessel. What now? Do you JUST go around killing everything in sight, or are you going to live up to that promise of "creating a shining future" with you and Mummy? And what is this shining future going to be like? Are you going to make male/female clones to be you faithful and discreet slaves? or are you going to just sail the cosmos alone and devoure everything?

You see this is one of the reason why I like Sephiroth so much. His goals seem alot more clear in AC than in the original FF7. But in this scenero, what if he truily succeeds, what then? This is one of the my fanfic ideas that I'm playing around for the main plot. How does he succeed and what he does after.

Or in the end he could just lay on couch, pull out green-tea ice-cream and watch the Doctor Who marathon all day. Who am I to wonder?

ForceStealer

Double Growth
The "shining future" is what he always wanted to do. He decided the world sucked ass so he was going to kill everything, become a god of the Lifestream and recreate the world in a manner in which he saw fit. When that didn't work, he decided to just ride the planet to another one and create his world there.

Battlewise, Sephiroth is a character that I have a lot of fun to play with, though in the beginning, it was difficult to me to get used to Sephiroth’s lag after Oblivion, for example.

But after that little learning time, Sephiroth became an absolute beast, one that can shatter the opponent’s brave with little effort.

His Brave attacks are quite powerful. The only thing negative about Sephiroth is the already referred lag after some of these attacks, leaving him vulnerable should he miss.

My fighting style with Sephiroth has a more strategic and cautious approach to it. I tend to let the adversary make the first move and then counter it, making use of Sephiroth’s high attack power and his brave attacks to deliver crushing blows. I also tend to use the battleground to my advantage, mainly when using HP attacks like Black Materia. Usually, I use him both as an aerial and ground fighter, though I tend to be more strategic and patient when on the ground and more vicious in aerial combat. Naturally, I use him as a close-to-mid range fighter.

Usually, making use of abilities like First Strike and Riposte, and depending on the opponent’s level and equipment, one full Reaper or even a Fervent Blow are enough to sap the entirety of an opponent’s Brave. If not, then the chase sequence that follows (in the case of Reaper) will do the trick.

As for his HP attacks, I usually place Sephiroth in a strategic location to use that as an advantage. For example, I place him in one of the platforms in Planet’s Core waiting for the opponent. When the opponent reaches the platform and is about to strike, I use Scintilla to block the attack and to deliver my own.
Other example is, when there’s a considerable distance between Sephiroth and his opponent, I place him between some of the mountains in the Lunar Subterranean and begin to charge Black Materia. Though it takes time to charge, the opponent can’t reach it in time, mainly due to the distance and the difficulty to reach the exact spot Sephiroth is located, thus suffering the might of a fully charged Meteor, making it quite difficult to dodge.

Heaven’s Light works beautifully as a surprise attack after the end of a Chase Sequence, as does Octaslash to punish a staggered opponent.

As for Sephiroth’s EX-mode, I too use it in a very strategic manner. I usually only activate it to break an opponent’s combo or when I’m attacking my opponent with Octaslash or Scintilla to follow immediately with his EX-Burst. I might do the same a split second before using Heaven’s Light (when I’m sure it will hit) or when a fully charged Black Materia is tackling the opponent down to the ground.

I only activate Sephiroth’s EX-Mode as soon as possible when I’m facing a higher-level opponent and when it has a considerable amount of Brave. In this case, I use the same strategy when I use Black Materia (hiding behind a mountain or such) to use Heartless Angel. After that, it’s only a matter to hit it with a Sudden Cruelty or Oblivion to break its Brave and gain the upper hand.

So, how about you guys? How did you equip “your” Sephiroth? And what strategies do you use? Let us compare our views and fighting stiles on our favourite One-Winged Angel.

That's a really solid build, playing to Sephiroth's strength, which is his overwhelming brave game. Playing conservatively is best, because while he's aggressive with bravery attacks, his HP attacks can be a bit hard to land, especially since he doesn't have a BRV->HP chain.

I think you should probably discard Concentration in favor of a more offensive ability like "Snooze and Lose." That ability is one of the best abilities in the game, which punishes defensive players and forces them to either attack blindly and make mistakes, or have their brave drain away to zero. With an aggro build like yours, and a strategic play style, you can really smash face against opponents with ease.

I'd get rid of Magic and Physical Shield too, because you really shouldn't rely on them to save you. Your own skill and tactics should compensate, and you shouldn't be getting hit that much where you need their buffs. Put those points towards Snooze and Lose.

I'll share my build one day, but its kinda similar to yours. Except my accessories focus more on keeping him in EX mode more than you.
