Avast is telling me every site is infected with a virus, including things like facebook and google.ca. Anyone ever have this problem and know how to fix it? I don't like browsing with no virus protection but it's the only way I can atm.

Judging by what the internets are saying right now, Brooke, the latest virus definition update for Avast broke a bunch of stuff, and Avast is currently in the process of fixing it.

Edit: So to actually answer your question, there's nothing you can do to fix it but wait and keep an eye out for updates. Will probably have to turn it off in the mean time.

Ya, I started reading a couple things that tells me this isn't the first time either.

Downloaded AVG in the meantime. Will test it out and if I like it will just keep it.

Did get me scared at first though. Thought I actually got a virus. And since I've been watching Reboot... ya...

AVG is solid, I've used it for a few years now, though apparently the relatively new free anti-virus/malware/spyware from Microsoft (Security Essentials I think it's called) is better.

Microsoft Security Essentials is great, it actually looks like it's doing something without slowing down my computer, and it stops my Windows Firewall bitching about the lack of anti-virus. =P
