This annoys me. Apparently Honors students need to read ONE book more than the average student in Standard English class. I mean why do I have to choose books from a compiled list? Why can't I do the assignments on a book that I want to read, that I like? What the hell?!
Because it has to be
historic (joke to old, old, old people lol) I guess
If you get to pick you might pick something that's not a classic. The reason they pick for you is so you read books like Dante's Inferno, Iliad, Odyssey, George Orwell, Lord of the Rings and the very classic Mark Twain (Tom Sawyer and HuckleBerry Finn). Since I'm home schooled I'm not sure if teenagers who go to an actual school read the classics like Animal Farm or 1984. You'd have to tell me that part lol
But the schools here have told my school (which is home) that we are to read the classics, in which we're given a long list of books from various authors and old literature like from Sir Walter Scoot, Shakespeare, Elizabeth Barret Browning, Robert Browning, Leonardo da Vinci, and Edgar Allen Poe. The point is for you to know the classic, breath taking aurthors that brought writers together and world wide. Things like that.
But I can't believe reading can piss anyone off. Its so fun and exciting. You enter someone's mind of freedom, fantasy, adventure and action! Its exhilarating! :>
Sorry for the long post, people.
