I'd say that it would have to be related, and we should discuss the requirements in terms of visitor counts - I'd personally say that the affilate site should get at least 60-70% of the visitors we get.

Ahh well it's not really related I guess. It wasn't for me anyway. I just happen to know someone who's looking for affiliates and likes FFVII but doesn't have a FFVII site. Oh well.

I know nothing about affiliation and such, also perhaps this should be in the affiliation thread/new thread regarding affiliation requirements, but... Would visitor percentages be the best thing we could ask for in someone who we would affiliate with us? Would context of the site be a more quality centered goal? I am not saying that the sites have to have a lot, but make sure they're not promoting something - stupid - if you catch my meaning.

Yeah, it wouldn't do us (or them) any good if we'd affiliate with near-dead sites.

I think it would be pretty cool if the banner really popped, like a lightbox against the darker colours of the site. I did a mock up of a banner for a site ages ago that i thought really popped visually, though it was very rough. If i can find it ill post it.

Are we going for an 800 or 1024 width btw? As mentioned in another thread 1024 would allow more content to be displayed.

Yeah, I too would prefer 1024, especially for the frontpage - as you can see, the menu's a tad squashed and I can't make it any bigger without squashing the main content.

That third picture is pretty neat - could you make a similar effect that's more in a (horizontal / wavy) pattern like our current banners?

I think that was made with some 3d rendering software. Im not sure if you could do it in photoshop

I just did that swirly thing. The background bit was part of some web template. Cant remember who put it all together.

btw, do you think that logo in my sig is usable? I think it wasnt used before because it looked a bit busy against the background on something. If you'd like i can change it a bit.

I think the main comment on that was that the lettering becomes a tad unclear due to the details inside the letters themselves, but besides that, it's an excellent logo. Do you still have the stock you've used for its background? I'd like to see a variation like that with a very faint background, fading to the current BG color, possibly a Lifestream~ish background. ish. Only more subtle than, say, our current banner, so that the letters and the logo becomes the main feature of the whole thingy, not its background.

Actually, its just the letters from the AC logo chopped up and letters that didnt appear, i just made myself. Problem i found with the FF fonts out there is they're not perfect recreations of the FF font. So I think mine is as close as possible. It would actually be relatively easy to redo th bg of the text, i think

I think i looked ages ago, and it was one you have to pay for. Or just one made by square. cant remember

edit: actually, i think it was something like Edition. I think that was used in older FFs. Newer ff font characte seem a little wider
