I must say I'm not a fan of having it hosted on some server where we don't get to decide what is and isn't allowed.

Explicit posting of nudity etc, for example, would be allowed under my reign.

If I wasn't lazy, cheap, had a reliable internet connection in my own possession etc, I'd chuck TLS up on a dedicated server along with an IRC server and whatever else you lot want, .

I registered my nick, but now I can't log onto it.

I've tried looking up help for it but I don't quite understand. I keep trying to type in the commands exactly as I'm directed to but it's just not working.

/msg nickserv identify password

on this server - nothing about an email required. Perhaps different servers have different protocols.

I think both might work. Or it just ignores the email. /ns works the same as /msg nickserv at least.

The email parameter is optional - it's used for password recovery, I think.
