I think it's worth noting that there are plenty of women with "rape" fantasies. Though that always kind of confused me because I'm not sure how well you can categorise it as rape if you're sexualising it like that

I think, its like....and maybe I can only speak for myself here...I think the appeal of such things for women is that a 'rape' fantasy sort of absolves the woman of responsibility? Its like 'he/she made me do these bad things that I just happened to enjoy but its not my fault!' So you still get to be the 'good girl'? And the good girl thing is kind of ingrained for a lot of women, like its no secret that a woman who is sexually liberated is looked down upon by society in general.

Don't get me wrong its not like I spend all my time thinking about such things, and the reversal of the situation - dominating a man- is equally as exciting to me. :monster:

I'm actually really looking forward to this. A lot of my friends on tumblr are mad about it because "it's not the Lara that they used to know!!" but if they're rebooting the series and starting from the beginning, she had to start somewhere before she became a legend. And honestly, I think it's really nice that they actually have her in a vulnerable position. I think having that element of survival is going to be fascinating for a Tomb Raider game.

I will admit that when I saw the trailer, something about it screamed "Hunger Games" more than "Tomb Raider." Probably the bow and Lara's younger new look, but on the flip side, it actually made me want someone to go all out and make a Hunger Games video game with all the violence and challenges that were left out of the movie. You can't tell me that wouldn't be awesome. lol

I mean there's potential for some cool shit there, but it better not be a shitty tacked-on mess.

they actually got a separate team to work on multiplayer

shit looks legit

i don't know if anyone's seen the "final hour" series but you can start off with this:

No more Werner? I'll miss him. Dear Esther...

Jape aside, I have high expectations for this reboot. Having cleared the mainline tabs, the feeling I get from its thus far good content evinces a little nostalgic rate of button smooching and belly flopping to cleft, right, left, and center, as were featured in the second generation titles. With the in-game initial, resolved forfeiture of such long drawn arms effigy recants some thrill, what with the frail Lara we are set by after her mysterious drift towards sheer fear that is left to the player to possess and deal with, which is something different for the experient. Worth a play.

The graphics are bloody impressive, and I think the player interface mechanics unite at a Hunter v. Nathan crossroads (not sure if that's a good thing, despite the more avenue in dexterity). I never really cared for how gorgeous Lara's model looked, as long as the mesh seems about right, then I deem it pretty playable with no double joint, glitch tricks. The graphics being amazing is a bonus to me. In essence being an old school Tomb Raider player, I can't help myself in backhandedly unloading every new model Lara poses, mentally (I keep this to myself, seeing it's oh-so-very-unequivocal to me). ;)

You can bet your bottom dime that I will play this, no matter what it turns out to be. At least, that's what I think. At the end of the day, I play for the story (or for sport, if I were first generation miss Croft), though having the Iris era severed, I'm not so sure that will carry forward. Well, I am glad to know the Scion is done with, as with that dragged its heels into the ground during the second generation of Tomb Raider's time which seemed to me a little under the weather of fresh steel within story context.

How I miss those Core Design days. Carefree and simple as a thread of hair story telling. It was always a new adventure; every level. I guess it is notable to attribute Lara with globe trotting at this stage, and it peels back wonders of future expansive, open world beauty with every release hereon after this one. I really look forward to future outs of Tomb Raider titles given this direction and new scope, as long as they don't unnecessarily chop and change the model every time (that, or I simply can't tell the difference between low poly and high poly count at a particular level of detail).

I believe this game will be good. :)

I am still up in the air about this one; however, the curiosity I have is making me lean toward wanting to play it, so I will probably beg my mummy to get me this one. I don't want to waste any of the trade-in credits I have waiting for games I truly want *coughsimcitythelastofuscough*

I mean, I know it's Tomb Raider and I've always played and loved the games, but this one just feels so foreign to me. She's an actual character and from what I've seen so far, I don't know if I like that. Haven't played the game yet, though, so I can't form an opinion until I've done so.

Apparently the multiplayer is kinda shit? But let's face it who here is at the end of the day totally surprised by that

I ordered the Survivor's Edition off ozgameshop so I don't have it yet~ but looking forward to picking it up, the Play Arts Kai looks super sweet :3

I'm on the fence about buying the game. I've always been a Tomb Raider fan but the trailers for this one didn't really do much for me, I'm not sure if I'm going to like it and I need to be saving up for games I really want like The Last of Us but the reviews for this one have been solid and I keep hearing good things about it, what should I do? Decisions, decisions.

if you like survival/exploration you'll like this game. exploration is the big thing for me personally, actually being able to discover random relics/treasures of the island really makes it feel like...well, like a game about tomb raiding should make you feel. the pacing between action/exploration so far has been pretty good, too.

it's really all up to personal preference, though. if anything i guess buy it used?

as an fyi for people looking to pick up the PC version apparently there's a really neat hair physics dedicated to it called TressFX; it's apparently optimised for AMD cards.

On the other hand, the game is apparently sluggish for nVidia cards (especially crashing for the 600 series), so those users should probably give it a wide berth for a while. :monster:

I've had my Survival edition since it came out last week, but unfortunately I don't have a PS3 yet, so I can't play it. ;____; Luckily one of Flint's friends has offered me the chance to play it on his PS3 this Friday, and I'm really looking forward to it. It's a good thing though that I can't play it yet, because I'm really busy right now and I probably wouldn't be able to stop myself otherwise. :awesome:

The game is unbelievably good, I'm on my second playthrough because the I missed a few story related trophies and the trophy whore inside me cannot accept this.

The game is really intense and throughout the game you do feel like Lara has the worst luck of any video game character.

she and issac clarke should be drinking buddies

That or the more obvious choice, her and Drake should definitely adventure together, coupled with how bad their luck seems to be they would make great companions.
