Grey Room - Damien Rice

I love this song. So mellow. It's good and just...relaxing. It's depressing or whatever, but I still feel myself unwinding and a bit of stress leaking out.

If these walls could speak

Don't ask me

Chasing Pavements -- Adele

"I've made up my mind, don't need to think it over
If I'm wrong I am right, don't need to look no further
This ain't lust, I know this is love

But if I tell the world, I'll never say enough
'Cause it was not said to you
And that's exactly what I need to do if I'd end up with you

Should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads no where?
Or would it be a waste even if I knew my place
Should I leave it there?

I build myself up and fly around in circles
Wait then as my heart drops and my back begins to tingle
Finally could this be it?

Should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads nowhere?
Or would it be a waste even if I knew my place
Should I leave it there?
Should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads nowhere?

Should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads nowhere?
Or would it be a waste even if I knew my place
Should I leave it there?
Should I give up or should I just keep on chasing pavements
Should I just keep on chasing pavements?

Should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads nowhere?
Or would it be a waste even if I knew my place
Should I leave it there?
Should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads nowhere?
"

I still love this song. It's the breakup anthem to my heart. I had a few good cries while this song was playing but now it just makes me oddly ecstatic when I play it.

I should feel incredibly guilty for listening to this song considering that I go to school with future police officers, and a vast majority of my teachers are retired cops, but god damn this song is too awesome.

I've been walking in the same way as I did
And missing out the cracks in the pavement
And tutting my heel and strutting my feet
"Is there anything I can do for you dear? Is there anyone I could call?
No, and thank you, please madam, I ain't lost, just wandering"

Round my hometown, memories are fresh
Round my hometown, ooh, the people I've met
Are the wonders of my world, are the wonders of my world
Are the wonders of this world, are the wonders and now

I like it in the city when the air is so thick and opaque
I love it to see everybody in short skirts, shorts and shades
I like it in the city when two worlds collide
You get the people and the government
Everybody taking different sides

Shows that we ain't gonna stand shit
Shows that we are united
Shows that we ain't gonna take it
Shows that we ain't gonna stand shit
Shows that we are united

Round my hometown, memories are fresh
Round my hometown, ooh, the people I've met

Are the wonders of my world, are the wonders of my world
Are the wonders of this world, are the wonders of my world
Of my world, yeah, of my world, of my world, yeah

Hometown Glory -- Adele

Reminds me of the urban freshness of Manhattan; it's so different from the suburbia haven of Somerset here in New Jersey. I sort of miss that raw urban state, every now and then . . .

Not to mention that the soulful 50's sound of her voice just stirs something deep within me. This song actually makes me emotional which is hard to do. It's a painful, beautiful, reflective song--reminding us of a lost place that we've left far behind . . .

Definitely describes my love for my home-state. ^_^
