Now listen to Tribulation. First The Formulas of Death and then their last album, The Children Of The Night. Morbus Chron were inspired by Tribulation's The Formulas Of Death for their masterwork, though both bands sounds very different. They share the same creative blood, so to speak. That's also why they are going to tour together plus their obvious friendship :monster:

Will do when I get back home. I have no way of listening to new music while on vacation, unless I want to try Internet radio I guess (which I don't particularly). If I don't post about them in like a week, give me another reminder.

Panopticon - [Roads to the North #01] The Echoes of a Disharmonic Evensong [9:36]

I haven't been posting much but we're mostly relaxing today due to like 25 miles of walking over the past five days, plus me taking an intelligence test yesterday (not an easy experience, let me tell you, although it was rather cool to find out I still remembered how to take a derivative sixteen years after I had calculus) :monster:

Panopticon - [Roads to the North #04] The Long Road, II. Capricious Miles [7:53]

Am doing, thanks. Sadly we already go back tomorrow :sadpanda:

Kayo Dot - [Hubardo #06] The First Matter (Saturn in the Guise of Sadness) [9:29]

If I were decisive enough to make a top ten albums of all time list, this would unquestionably be on it.

Exodus - A Lesson In Violence

Drunk as shit but this is as essential as Darkaness DEscends, Pleasure to KIll, or Reign In Blood. So fucking savage after all these years.

Dawnbreaker

~The Other Side of Fear~
"Titanium"

You shout it out,
But I can't hear a word you say
I'm talking loud, not saying much
I'm criticized but all your bullets ricochet
You shoot me down, but I get up

I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose
Fire away, fire away
Ricochet, you take your aim
Fire away, fire away
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium

Cut me down
But it's you who'll have further to fall
Ghost town and haunted love
Raise your voice, sticks and stones may break my bones
I'm talking loud not saying much

I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose
Fire away, fire away
Ricochet, you take your aim
Fire away, fire away
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
I am titanium
I am titanium

Stone-heart, machine gun
Firing at the ones who run
Stone heart loves bulletproof glass

Dark Angel - [Time Does Not Heal #05] An Ancient Inherited Shame [9:16]

Frankly some of the best metal lyrics I've ever heard. And the rest of the song is amazing too, obviously. I wonder if these guys are ever going to do a fifth album.

And I just learned about something that I swear makes the Legend of Zelda cartoon look AMAZING.

This has to be one of the best live collections ever.

A cover of Gwyns theme from Dark Souls that remixes it and changes its tone kind of dramatically. It's really nice.

Though its also pretty much thematically the exact opposite of what Gwyns theme is meant to be. The original theme made by Motoi Sakuraba is meant to be almost depressing to present the reality of the situation. The being your about to fight isn't this epic villain who was behind the curtains pulling strings to destroy the planet. He's a literal shadow of his former self who sacrificed everything and everyone around him to try and keep his age going a little longer and whats left for you to try and fight is the after math of that. Worse yet beating him means pretty much nothing (especially taking in DkS2 into account).

So to hear a epic rendition of the song is kinda funny :monster:

Wish there were more prog bands with female vocalists. Then again, most of them couldn't possibly hope to live up to the standards of Annie's vocals anyway.

Renaissance - [Live at Carnegie Hall CD1 #04] Carpet of the Sun [3:47]

This has to be pretty high up in any assessment of prog live albums as well. The fact that they managed to pull off Song of Scheherazade deserves a mention on its own.

Edit: Fuck, R.I.P. John Tout. I didn't even hear the news. These albums wouldn't have sounded anything like they did without him. He was the instrumental backbone of the group. The others were certainly excellent musicians in their own right, but he and Haslam were the foci of the music.
