Yeah, she's replacing Aerith entirely. There was a fallout with contracts, and so she just walked out of the set. They replaced her with Selphie and thought "eh, no one'll notice the difference."

Is anybody else hoping that they'll make better sense of the prologue? I mean, I know it was put there to help those who didn't play the game to understand what was going on. But it just seemed so... flat. There was no flow to it I thought. It was a bore to sit through (what felt like 10 minutes) the same five words... Geostigma.. Lifestream... Sephiroth... Jenova... Cloud.
Yeah that's crucial points but it felt as though the same sentence was being beaten into the viewers head every other minute. Geostigma is killing Midgar.. Sephiroth caused it... Geostigma kills people...

^^^ This. No moar shitty lifestream. Yes we get it, you can make fancy swirls. Good job. No moar Midgar, we see it in the actual movie. Granted, it's probly hard to choose just any old scene, but why not throw in recreations of places we otherwise won't see in the movie? Corel? Golden Saucer? DATE SCENE.
