Haha, use whatever you want man (so long as its Normal). If I were putting together an all Normal team I'd need a Girafarig, Sawsbuck, and Bibarel for extra type-coverage (Psychic/Grass/Water) cause I loves me some dual-types, but if you wanna go mostly or even all single-type then feel free.

An advantage to having pure normal types is that they have only one weakness.

Only one weakness is definitely a good thing. Having STAB on the huge pool of Normal-type moves is also quite good. Even if its always neutral damage (or not very effective), that adds up quick. I mean, take your Snorlax. Let's assume a base attack stat of 110. Said Snorlax uses Body Slam, Normal attack with power at 85. Give it a Normal Gem to boost that attack by 50%. Add in the same type attack bonus. You've just done more math than I'm normally willing to do, but damn if it doesn't = PAIN

Also, Loki I just looked up at my responses and decided they didn't feel welcoming enough. You would really need a Gen V game to participate in the League, but I'd still love to sign you up even if it would be a while before you could make use of your position So anytime you like, feel free to pick a theme and a team to build around it, and I'll add you to the list.

i'll buy the game saturday and i hope to end the game before next week-end (finally a get a little holiday )
i'll probably use a water-type team 'cause is the easiest to have when you don't have a lot of time.

Yeah Snorlax is one of my favorite Normal types, I couldn't not put it on my team.

An excellent choice, Snorlax. One of my proudest battles was walling Red's level 82 Snorlax with a Tyranitar 30 levels lower

I would be steel, my favourite type but i'll be psychic for metagross. I can make a team for any type though. My brother (matthewtheman) doesn't have a 5th gen game yet so i might have to let him use on of mine to do battles with until he gets white 2 cause i have black white and black 2. But anyway i could possibly be ghost as well but im gonna go for psychic.

And voila! Just a quick heads-up on your teams though, despite not appearing on the modern Gen V Ubers tier list made by Smogon, Mew and Celebi are currently banned from Flat Rules battles. Surprisingly, Latios is not despite it also having restricted use rules in battle towers and the like (if it has Soul Dew as its held item anyway). So you might have to rethink your teams a bit.

Yeah, took me a bit of waffling between Fire and Dark before I chose (mostly because I train a lot of Fire-types already). And Kris (our Ice-master) and my lady Clicky (of the Grass-type) had a hard time choosing between their respective types and Psychic as well

Myself, I vote you pick Psychic. It'd be nice to have type-advantage for a change

Alright, leaving Psychic struck through to show its taken then And as I recall our rules for membership did allow for an element-themed member to have one Pokemon not of their type, provided it knows at least one move of said type. So as long as your Sableye knows Zen Headbutt or Psychic or the like, you're golden

ive been collecting tons of psychic type pokemon for a few days now. I at least have my whole main team, but ive still been collecting a ton and i still have to train a girafarig to at least level 50. Im thinking if i have a lot of psychic pokemon (and extra pokemon that know psychic moves) then whenever my gym is challenged i can throw together a team with whatever random pokemon i want. I have 2 whole pc boxes reserved for this and one is already filled.

Ah, we have a type collector on deck. Another one, that is. I can say with great pride that by hook or crook I have collected every single Dark-type in existence We really need to get the gang back together and discuss the rules and such again, the first time we went over all this membership was rather different than it is now. Make sure we're all still good with things.
