Well on the upside it wasn't as batshit stupid as I thought it'd be, but PRETTY DARN CLOSE I think The whole paying for used games thing turned out right, I guess.
The only good thing out of this is the non-stupid-bullshit functionality (which I honestly think is kind of neat).

That, and the fact that now all the good Xbox 360 stuff will now go down in price enough for me to actually buy it off retail~! Yay

EDIT: That controller looks absolutely fucking delicious, though. Someone somewhere in Microsoft still has an iota of sense as to what ergonomics is. A shame it doesn't match the blocky aesthetic of the box now

BF3 vs CoD: Ghost.

BF3 being the left shot and Ghost being the right side, in CoD's defense they are using an extremely old/modified Engine that is by todays standards.. garbage. But they have had plenty of time to get with the times so its a bit of a moot point. If they got off there asses, got a new engine and quit copy and pasting game assets they may be able to make a good looking game for a change

On top of that the "new ips" are gonna be indirect continuations of other pre-existing franchises. CoD: Ghost anyone? Sure its "new" ip.. but not quite and im sure the other hinted at games will use the same scapegoat.

CoD's trend of using comparatively shithouse graphics engines does not correllate with the potential of the console itself

All the big three companies are peddling their family-friendly gimmicks towards this next generation, and the games on release will reflect that. Shit, I bet some of those WiiU games that used the tablets were actually good.

don't fix what's not broken, i guess? the d-pad was the biggest downside to the controller originally. (honestly this is pretty shallow but i prefer the xbox to the ps mostly because i find the controller more comfortable. but that's personal preference i guess).

it's bad enough with customers coming into gamestop still under the impression the wii u is just an add on rather than it's own console.

Xbox was always good about integrating other functions into their system. Then turning into an all in one thing isn't that far off base to what they have been attempting to do and it isn't even bad. I can see uses for it.

The problemis that while they make it so much easier to do these extra functions, it puts all these barriers to gaming... despite being a gaming console. A fee for playing used games? How much is the fee (there are rumors that the fee is around the same price as the retail price?), is it automatic, most parents don't even understand the ESRB system- I doubt they are going to understand they have to buy the game twice. I have two xboxs at my house so I can't share games between family members? So if you own the disc of your own game and the console, you can't play it? And if your internet isn't connected at least once a day you can't play. Even my itouch doesn't bother with that shit (i think).

It's a gaming device that makes it harder to game, wow omG so innovative
