Finished the real estate questline :mon:

Tfw you buy the most expensive property at over a billion Yen and then realize you forgot to assign security to the area so the Media King just takes it back at the next payout without any resistance :rclosedmonster:
Yeah that was a big fuckup lmao

Unlocked the fourth battle style which is neat, I guess. Might be fun to use in an eventual New Game+ on a harder difficulty or something.
Currently focusing on wrapping up all the Kiryu sidequests. Then it's back to Majima. :flipmonster:

50% completion baybeee

...I don't think I'm gonna go for 100% on this one though. I'm not about to learn Mahjong for this. :wackymonster:

Getting ticked off at those wealthy dudes coming into my club all pissed off from the get go arguing with my girls. :nah:

"Scold girl" Nay, I shall never use this option, I must protect my staff! Go home sir, you're drunk!

(yes, I am continuing cabaret. I think after finishing that storyline I'm gonna move on from Y0, cba with whatever remaining substories :mon: )

@Tetsujin good call. I didn't finish all the side quests either.

There's a bit of an incline to Kiwami, but if you stick with it there's tons of gold in the series. Personally I liked Kiwami.

I finished Cabaret within a few chapters of getting it, I loved it so much :wackymonster:

Alright, done with cabaret club.

That Mad Dog fighting style is wild, yo. Too bad that I'm getting it at a point where I'll move on though lmao

Club Moon battle was annoying with the constant stealing of customers. Felt kind of unfair and frustrating...and then I beat them by 20 million Yen anyway haha :P

There's so much stuff in this game, there are several minigames I haven't even tried yet. There's like a casino in Sotenbori, never even went in lol
Feels like the kind of game where you gotta treat it like a theme park, prioritize the attractions you wanna see and accept you're not gonna see all of it in one go or something :mon:

I'm burnt out on side activities now but I'm still interested in story stuff. I might just go straight to Kiwami 1 🤔

So anyway, I started Kiwami. :monster:

Feels kind of like a DLC to Y0 although I don't necessarily say this as a bad thing.

Man, after earning the Dragon fighting style in Y0 it was kind of nice to see it being Kiryu's main style here...only for them to make it useless again and just recycle the three styles from Zero. :P

Wtf is up with Nishiki, wonder if he'll go full villain and we'll have to fight him and it's gonna be all emotional and shit? He better remember his bro, I did 10 years for his punk ass. :mon:

Ah, Majima turns full meme factory. That is the Majima I expected but...I liked him better in Zero lol
Feels like his turn to wackiness isn't really all that well explained, it's just a quick note at the end of Zero. "Yeah idk, he embraced being wild or something" Okay then.

That Majima Everywhere thing doesn't lie, he truly is fucking everywhere lmao
So far the shenanigans are quite amusing (and he started giving mad EXP). I'm up to chapter 5 and feel like I spent most of my time doing sidequests and fighting Majima over and over again, heh. I wonder at what point the Dragon fighting style will actually become viable.
The whole Goromi bit was kind of fun because Kiryu and Majima kind of just talked for a bit in the cabaret club and sort of genuinely got to know each other a little bit more? The callbacks to Majima being in charge of a club! Man, I remember it like it was last week. Because it was! :flipmonster:
I already know this one doesn't have any cabaret club minigame which is too bad...but the internet tells me Kiwami 2 does? Hope real estate stays in Zero though. :hohum:

Sang a few songs at the Karaoke bar, it was neat how they implemented flashbacks to Zero here.
Also ran into Fighter and the kids from the Pocket Circuit stadium, it's neat seeing everyone be grown up and stuff. I'm feeling nostalgic for a game I just finished days ago, lol

Considering my last post said I'm burnt out on side activities, I actually have been stalling the main story for quite some time lol. Apparently I'm out-Majima'd and have to continue the story before he shows up again so I guess it's time to go on.

@Tetsujin love reading these!!

I also think you'll have fun going back reading them yourself later, so keep'em posted!

Yeah Majima is literally everywhere so you did a wise thing moving on for a bit xD

So the funny thing is that literally the next story bit was Majima taking Haruka hostage and us having a more serious fight, so much for taking a break from Majima :mon:

Oh, and that underground red light district with a coliseum and everything? Massive Wall Market vibes. Or I guess Remake Wall Market just really had massive Yakuza vibes :mon:

Also, I like how that it's Christmas season in-game as well. All the konbinis and restaurants have Christmas music playing, it's perfect for this time of year. :treemonster:

Oh fuck, they killed Reina =(
Fuckin' Nishiki. I haven't forgotten him slapping her either!
Speaking of which, Kiryu slapped Haruka too. That seemed...unexpected and out of character. Haruka took it weirdly well though. In general I kinda feel like she's not really written by someone who's been around 9-year olds. She's way too composed for a little girl going through all this shit lol
And then Date also slapping his daughter followed by him apologizing and how it's all his fault. Then why didn't you slap yourself instead jfc

Been enjoying the Nishiki flashbacks. Considering the ten year gap, we really needed that context of how Nishiki became this way. Dang, that scene when he got conned by the doctor...

In other news, I kept up with improving Dragon style and recently learned Tiger Drop from Komaki and HOLY SHIT this is ludicrously overpowered. I love it! I guess this answers my question at which point Dragon becomes a viable style. I've been switching to it every now and then for the sumo slap heat action but now it's at the "better than the other styles" stage even though the regular moves still lack a bit in speed or power compared to the others.
I kinda like how non-flashy it is. Just a very quick and powerful jab, it's pretty satisfying.

Also, hours into the game I still discover new context-sensitive heat actions. Just recently did one near a car and Kiryu proceeded to bash the dudes' face in with the car door. That was sick, haha. Probably was possible in Yakuza 0 as well, but I've never seen it 'til now.

Gotta say, maxing out your skill trees minus Dragon style is a lot faster in this than 0. I got done with them days ago, especially with Majima giving lots of EXP. My EXP are now at 9999 too :wacky:
I also grinded out Majima Everywhere and finished that today so Dragon style is all maxed out as well. :mon:
Getting Idol Majima to spawn took forever though, dang RNG.

edit: Finished at 36h, completion at 64% :mon:

Fighting Jingu as the penultimate boss was a bit like "where were you this entire time to suddenly be so important"

Was really hoping Yumi wouldn't die :(
At least Nishiki went out like a boss

he's still a punk though :mon:
