What ARE you talking about? That scroll has nothing to do with Monty Python.

Monty Python was chiseled on a cave wall. Totally different.

Beat it on Paladin- no, I didn't bother with lower difficulties- I think I muscle memory'd Forgy's moveset.

Now for the challenges!

On Paladin? :O

I'm dreading doing that. :(

I decided to do it first mostly because A: I wanted challenge and B: it's more efficient.

The actual 'complete the level and' challenges I will be doing on Squire, natch. More room for error, more hits til I'm dead, probably a softer AI for Forgy. I suspect the hardest part about getting 100 orbs will be the endurance of it and grabbing them. He's actually pretty easy to chain combo in phase 1.
The second stage is just Beating Flame Skeletons and finishing the level.

This is the proof of concept Alpha build video with Simon Belmont that was used by Mercury Stream to get the green light to make C:LoS. Although this is the same engine that was used for the game, David Cox teased that this is now their old engine.

While that's not any official C:LoS 2 announcement, they're starting to hint more openly now, which is exciting.

Ooh, nice.

So, for those who haven't done the challenges, my reccomendations- keep Forgy in stage 1 til you get at least 70 orbs- this is easier than it sounds, you can get to full tension in a single square groundslam, then rack up 20 orbs with some chainsaw. I got about 133 total. I could have done it on Paladin again, but the extra fudge room afforded by squire was very nice.

For the 16 skeletons- Aerial Guantlets slams, especially Triangle slams, are the key, as is balancing healing and collecting more magic.
Stay near the back, the skeletons can sometimes hit you in midair, and if you're too close to the lava when they do, they can kill you instantly by knocking you in. This happened to me several times.

Oh, and Forgy's AI is dramatically different between difficulties. Slower attack cycling, less well selected attacks, etc.

And CV:LOS2 or whatever would be good news.

What, no, don't be silly. there's no WAY CLOS has anything to do with Castlevania Lords of Shadow.

Seriously, though, can't wait for the unveil.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow was the first game that had any post-game follow up DLC that I actually decided was worth my time to get. I just got the last bit of Asura's Wrath story-expansion DLC a couple weeks ago, the Batman: Arkham City DLC is out on Tuesday, and then there's a Castlevania: Lords of Shadow sequel announcement on Thursday?

It looks like this month is just full of things for my favorite games!!!!

Don't feel too bad, Tets. ^_^ I've fallen into a time where I've become far more hooked into games as storytelling devices, and do essentially all of my playthroughs on Easy, and then follow up on Normal, and higher depending on my time, and how much I feel like getting into the gameplay aspect of things. My younger self would be horribly embarrassed by this, but it is what it is. ^^;

I've mostly played games only on Normal and never really cared for gameplay challenges too much but that has somewhat changed for me in recent times.

I'm just not used to Nintendo Hard anymore.

Modern games made me soft.

So, given that we already know a significant bit about the future events in the C:LoS mythology, (and before the official announcements hits), what do you think might be happening in C:LoS 2 and when would it be taking place, etc?

I'm thinking that Baba Yaga may show up, since it's pretty certain that we see her in the far future. I'm also curious whether or not we'll be following Gabriel/Dracul or if he'll be the big bad, since we know he'll survive through any events still in a medieval time period.
