Gabriel slaughters an entire army of humans at the castle while teleporting back and forth, using his magic like a whip. He drains a human dead in front of a huge mechanical construct, before transforming into a dragon, and attacking it.

Then, he stands alone in the decimated battlefield...

and is approached by a lone figure in purple...


And it ends with...


Dracula Gabriel vs. Alucard!!!!!

Well he did kill all three of the the Lords of Shadow and beat Satan as a human, defeated the Forgotten One as a half Vampire, and became Dracula afterwards. By the end of LoS: Resurrection, he is the number one significant power in the world, and he's been gaining power since. It's not surprising that he's ridiculously powerful.

I am really curious as to how Alucard is gonna make himself into a match for Dracul/Gabriel. I'm curious how much of the setup's gonna be covered in Mirror of Fate (which I'm rather sad that I probably won't get to play through).

The official website for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 has shed just a flicker of light on the just-announced Konami sequel.

According the the Story page, this will be the conclusion to the Lords of Shadow series. As the trailer revealed, it stars Dracula (or Gabriel Belmont, as we’ve come to know him) who is “yearning for release from his immortal bonds”. Aren’t we all?

The weakened vampire lord finds himself up against a new threat, and must restore his former power to overcome it. His own castle will play a key role in that quest. Interestingly, it’s suggested that he’ll have to go up against others members of the Belmont clan, who we’ve traditionally played as in a bid to destroy Dracula in Castlevanias past. Quite the reversal, then.

Still no other details on release, sadly, but let’s hope for more soon.

RelyonHorror is a pretty great place for consolidated updates on Castlevania stuff. they have some screens and artwork in addition to the information that Dacon posted. They've also got Teaser information that'll be revealed during Nintendo's press conference.

Since this is gonna be the conclusion of the Lords of Shadow saga, I'm REALLY hoping we'll get a chance to play through some parts from Lords of Shadow's epilogue in the modern day, especially with the bit about "yearning for release from his immortal bonds".

I'm a little sad too, but I'd rather that a series REALLY deliver on a particular story arc all the way through than slowly falter into an awkward ending or lack thereof (*cough*FFVII*cough*). I'm just wondering how much this is gonna compel me to play Mirror of Fate (maybe my little sister has a 3DS that I can hijack for a little bit when it comes out). XD

Alucard's a more well known name, but it's an entirely different continuity, so who knows.

Also, I finally figured out why Gabriel's face looks different (which'd been bugging me). His brow line is less linear and more v-shaped, and his chin is dented.
