Loz just called, he thinks you're wrongOf course I wasn't talking about her specifically, I was pointing out my firmly held belief that on neutral ground, Tifa will savagely beat most opponents to a pulp in a horribly one sided contest.

Yeah, which is what I guess GLD meant by 'most'.Loz is condensed Sephiroth power. He'd probably beat Fang too.
That should have been 'poostorm'
Reading this topic has been making me sad. Let's instead talk about how awesome both characters are because they are. I prefer those discussions.
Yeah of course, it was just joking around. When someone say a fight involving Fang will be 'a one-sided savage beating' I just had to say somethingReading this topic has been making me sad. Let's instead talk about how awesome both characters are because they are. I prefer those discussions.
YOUR PONIES ARE NOT WELCOMED HERE.

Well if I had been "trashing" Fang, Fangu would be 100% correct. I haven't played XIII and know next to nothing about Fang Of course I wasn't talking about her specifically, I was pointing out my firmly held belief that on neutral ground, Tifa will savagely beat most opponents to a pulp in a horribly one sided contest. That includes Cloud, btw, provided we take his sword away I don't think he'd stand a chance against Tifa in a fight

It's no surprise that he'd beat an out of practise, pretty much civilian Tifa.

Me said:Just how a real fight with Tifa would normally end
No but the post you quoted had the 'one-sided savage beating' in it and you sort of continued on that quote.Where does Fang's name appear in this post? I did not even mention Fang. I mentioned how awesome Tifa is by way of stating MOST PEOPLE who fight her would receive a savage beating.
That is true, and in which case Fang is properly having her ass handed to herThe "one-sided savage beating" line wasn't even about a fight. It was in reference to the fact that Tifa has several more votes than Fang.
We have been given no indications that she was out of practice. She was always a bartender. She didn't happen to be carrying her fighting gloves in her backpocket when AC happened, you know. She still fights, Marlene's complete lack of surprise to Tifa busting out her moves indicates as much.
Of course we are, she was living a goddamn civilian life taking care of children and running a bar.
What was keeping her busy??? Marlene and a bar didn't keep her preoccupied before? She's living in Edge now, no giant wall to keep away the monsters, it was only just being built. Why wouldn't she find time. There is no indication that she was out fighting bandits and monsters to try and stay in fighting shape. She simply didn't have the time for that kind of crap.
Rufus affirmed at the very start of the movie that Cloud still fights like the SOLDIER he thought he was as always. She and avalanche gave up their materia and all of their equipment for a reason, so they could start anew and live their lives properly. Cloud was actively putting himself out there in danger just like Barret, and even he got rusty. Once he got back into the game he was whooping ass left and right.
Why do we need an indication that she was still practising? She was a civilian when she started her martial arts. She didn't pick it up specifically to be part of AVALANCHE, to get back at Shinra, or out of any desire to be a hero at all. It's a hobby that she had long before any of that and out of the hundreds of students that Zangan picked up, she was the best at it. Why does it taking two scenes before she kicks anything indicate that she deserted that?? If have no clue where this is coming from. There is no indication she was practising her katas or whatever bullshit people can come up with. Her primary responsibility was taking care of those kids, Cloud, and the bar so they would have some sort of stable living condition. Anyone who has been a homemaker knows that taking care of several people and running a business takes up a lot of time and leaves little for anything else. It is simple common sense and use of inference to know she had little time to be out playing around and indulging in unnecessary fighting.
Oh and just because she stopped fighting doesn't mean she forgot how or lost all of her fighting instincts.
She still fights, Marlene's complete lack of surprise to Tifa busting out her moves indicates as much.
