I think I did point that out, yeah. Steam is definitely riding the indie wave (although with Steam being as big a publisher as it is, once can wonder if they're still truly independent).

I was mainly aiming at the AAA titles though, which have been scarce besides series like Call of Duty. Plus I'm complaining because all the fun games you people always fawn about never were published for PC, :monster:.

Most big name shooters and games got ported though.

Save for Sony and Microsoft's much toted exclusives.

Launch trailer: LOTS of new footage, totally excellent feel, and probably my favorite trailer thus far.

Leaving to pick this up in 2 hours.

Was able to play a lil bit this morning, gives me a heavy Mass Effect vibe, which isnt a bad thing, just noticeable. And for some reason the characters kinda irk me a lil during conversations, they move too much, and in odd ways. Tho that could be contributed to the implants an all.

Enjoying it tho. I'm trying to go for stealth, and thats harder than I thought it was gonna be :/ It's not hard, just wasnt expecting it I guess.
And Im addicted to hacking.

I fucked up during the boss convo, I was trying to reason with him by telling him I wanna find out who did it as well, I didnt mean to let him go and get that girl killed :(

HEY, EVERYONE: IF YOU'RE PLANNING ON GETTING THE PC VERSION OF DXHR,
DO NOT GET IT FROM GAMESTOP!

The PC Version comes with a free online copy through OnLive. However... Gamestop is opening all of the PC version games, throwing away the OnLive coupons, and then selling the game to you as new. Give them a big "fuck you" with your wallet. It doesn't even matter if you were going to use the OnLive version or not. Don't support them taking shit out of your game, and then selling it to you as 'new' without being informed.

They're not allowed to do that. Right? I mean, wouldn't the company putting out the game have something to say about it?

I suppose we'll find out as the story/news pick up the media and run with it. Either way, they already did it, regardless of whether or not they're "allowed" to.

Update: Instead of pulling the voucher they are now simply refusing to sell the PC version at all.

What a bunch of douchebags. I guess I won't be shopping at GameStop anymore.

SE actually said 'okay, you may remove the code from the games' earlier today.

The main point is that Gamestop is offering or about to offer a service similar to OnLive. With that in mind, OnLive is a direct competitor to Gamestop's service, which leads them to removing the code from the games. And SE is okay with it.

I've got mixed feelings about it. On the one side, I can understand Gamestop just fine - it's like selling products with a coupon for their competitors.

On the other, if gamers are promised the code as part of their purchase of the game, they're entitled to it and if Gamestop doesn't give them the codes, then SE or OnLive itself should give them through some other means.

^Pretty much that. And to be honest, I don't know what Gamestop has themselves all in a fuss about. It's not like someone out there's going to look at the OnLive coupon, throw everything up into the air and go "WOOP WELL I GUESS I WILL NEVER BUY GAMES FROM GAMESTOP AND WILL BUY FROM ONLIVE FOREVER"

My biggest qualm in all of this is that they were opening, removing something from the game, and still selling it as new. On top of the fact that they were attempting to do so without informing the people who bought it that it should have come with something else that they might have wanted to use.

For me it's got nothing to do with OnLive or even what was included. If a gamestore is going to open my game, and take ANYTHING out of it, they'd better fucking let me know that they did, so I have to option to purchase it elsewhere if I want what was included.

This entire game hinges on plot and secrets. PLEASE keep all spoilers tagged. General comments on the game are okay.

On topic- I love the sense of power and gradual growth the game gives you from slowly kicking ass, earning more points towards aug unlocks, choosing which ones, and kicking more ass. It's even better once you feel more and more confidence going into dangerous situations knowing that you can pretty much elude, outwit, or outright destroy everyone using your tools and wits.

More games should be like this.

I love the immersion, but atm I wish there was a faster way to go around the city hubs, or at least the option, because I'm in the early Detroit section atm and there's a lot of fucking walking from A to B, with very little to do in between besides pick up the occasional side-quest.

It's great to go exploring and the little things I find is great and all for the flavor of the entire game, but there are moments where I have no fucking clue what to do next and going to the next objective is an exercise in tedium.

Screwed the first mission in the factory. :P

Minor spoiler:
Apparently there were some hostages to save? I only knew about them after the mission was complete. If I was told this BEFORE the mission was over maybe I could have done something about it. :wacky:

There are parts of this game that feel like Blade Runner, I approve of this. :awesome:

I just started a new game not long after the factory lol.
I kinda screwed myself in terms of upgrading augments and my stealthy character is crap at doing anything other than run away.

So yeah new game and already got further in half the time :P

There's a plethora of vids on the net detailing pacifist playthroughs and how to deal with the bosses

granted, most of those require godlike skill and/or the right combination of augs, but still :monster:

I heard the 2nd boss fight is an especial clusterfuck for stealth players. Anyone care to verify for me?

I'm trying to complete the game first time without killing anyone.
The Trophy for this says 'except boss fights'. Meaning the boss's are killed by you no matter how you defeat them, so don't worry about using guns against them. The Second boss fight wasn't too difficult, once you know how to do it.

Run after her shooting her in the back. Run around the inside track of the level and shoot at her. This will make sence when you get there. :P
