Wait, they're redesigning the TARDIS again?

Oooooooooo

Good because I still haven't started to like the most recent one.

xD Am I the only one who didn't really like 9/10's TARDIS console?

I'm thinking that all the Gallifreyan is in order to make it very "Timelordy" for the 50th anniversary.

I loved the console room that the Ninth and Tenth Doctors used. :sadpanda: And having gone back and watched various Classic Who clips, I don't know if there's a single one that I could say that I don't like, outdated as some of them are (but that's part of the charm); except the one we got when Matt Smith took over. :/

The only thing I did like was the fact that there was so much more room underneath the actual console. It's kind of cool when The Doctor is down there fixing stuff sometimes.

Other than that, the rest of it looks awful.

imho anyway it's just me don't pay attention

[/pointless rant]

I'm kind of excited to see the new interior.

It's funny, because I like 11's because it looks like there're things around, and it actually goes off into corridors and such. Plus there's a juxtaposition between angles and curves all over the place.

For me, 9/10's it just looked like... a big, dusty, bronze closet, and the only cool part was the fact that it glowed green...?

9 and 10's had more to it than just the control room as well. Granted, the show only ever showed us one of those other rooms of that version of the TARDIS once, but still, it was there, and implied to be there.

But idk agree to disagree I guess. The setup itself isn't what I didn't like. It was the colors, and the patterns on the wall, and how the video screen look like a plastic children's toy, amongst other things.

Agree to disagree is best, but I love hearing how your opinion/likes are so very different from mine about the two consoles. :D

That's amazing news. Is there anyone on the planet with a better voice than Sir Ian McKellen's? I submit that there is not.

Christopher Eccleston on the 50th:
"Would I like to be involved? If I told you that I’d have to shoot you."

‎Tom Baker on the 50th:
"I think if they ask me nicely or I can see what they want me to do, I’d consider it. I think the fans have been so good to me, they’d expect me to at least make an appearance."

‎Steven Moffat on the 50th:
"I will absolutely guarantee that you’re not going to feel disappointed or short-changed. It will be a quite remarkable time for Doctor Who."

‎David Tennant on the 50th:
"I cannot be drawn on anything. Who knows what will happen next year? I'm sure there are lots of plans being discussed... I am not confirming nor denying anything."

‎Matt Smith on the 50th:
"It won’t just be a televised event; I think it will be a live event. The way it’s transmitted on TV will hopefully be an inventive thing - something different."

‎Karen Gillan on the 50th:
"Whether Arthur Darvill and I are involved, we'll have to wait and see."

‎Paul McGann on the 50th:
"I'd love to do Doctor Who again, but that's not up to me, is it? ...I'm often asked, 'If they get the five Doctors together, would you do it?' and of course, I'd do it. They've just got to ring me up, I know it’s imminent but no, there’s been no invites to or sounding out taking place but maybe it will happen, we don’t know."

‎Peter Davison on the 50th:
“I feel no need to turn my back on it, but I don’t feel like it’s the kind of thing they’d do, I’d be very surprised if they tried to do anything involving the old Doctors because it always takes a slight stretch of the imagination anyway to figure out why the previous Doctors look older, but I’m sure that can be done.”

Russell T Davies on the 50th:
"I think I’d be like the ghost at the feast, what would I do – turn up and make the tea? I have asked current boss Steven Moffat not to tell me what they are planning."

John Barrowman on the 50th:
"There was a rumour online that said I’m not able to do it because of my schedule. But, actually, I haven’t been asked. So it’s nothing to do with my schedule. And to be honest with you — I have time. I’ve always said, if they come to me and ask me to do Doctor Who or Torchwood ever again, I would do it at the drop of a hat."

Matt Smith on his choice of returning companion:
"If I wanted a companion from the past to return for the anniversary I would say Rose because I am good friends with Billie Piper."

Dude I almost forgot.

Netflix has Classic Who now.

It looks like it might be all of it that was not destroyed.

BRB watching the flip out of this shit.

Ha, I was planning on posting this :monster:

Sylvester McCoy is the only original series character to appear, too.
xD Am I the only one who didn't really like 9/10's TARDIS console?
The Seventh/Eighth Doctors' TARDIS was the best. But some of the Fourth Doctor's wood-panelled consoles were awesome, too.
He's good friends with Sylvester McCoy. Even before they co-starred in a certain film that I'm sure no-one's heard of. :awesome:

So I started watching the Classic Who stuff on Netflix. Just how much did the BBC destroy, anyway? Four episodes of William Hartnel running around with Aztecs, then it goes straight to Patrick Troughton. Which is too bad because I would have liked to see how Ian and Barabara first meet the Doctor and Susan, and I would have liked to see Susan with that one human guy, and I would have liked to see that first regeneration and how the 2nd Doctor met Jamie and Zoe.

So far this show has a charm of its own that's rather likable. It's a lot of fun, but really cheeseball, but that's what makes it so charming. It's odd to try to think of it as being the same as NuWho, though, imagining these versions of the Doctor as being the same character as Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, and Matt Smith. lol

I do have to say, though, that at times the 2nd Doctor has a few little quirks that make me think of the 11th (or maybe it should be the other way around haha).

And from now on every time I see image macros saying, "His name is 'The Doctor,' not 'Doctor Who!" or "I get angry when people spell it 'Dr. Who' instead of 'Doctor Who,'" I'm going to laugh since "Dr. Who" is exactly what it says in the end credits! :awesome:

Looks like they'll be altering the opening sequence and theme during the Christmas episode as well.

One, I hope that this means that we're done with the god-awful Instagram-y colored filters placed over the time vortex that were present in all of the Series 7 episodes so far. I thought that the episode title texts changing were clever, but I hated the other part.

Two: I'm pretty sure that this means that this will be setting the tone for the upcoming 50th Anniversary. New TARDIS console and a new opening theme. It's all so very exciting, and the episode is only a week away!

Oh, haha I read about that a few days ago. I don't know why it didn't occur to me to post it here.

I'm glad it's changing. The title sequence that has been in use since season five is awful. The song, the animation, the horrible typography that's impossible to read...

The logo, however, was particularly nice. The best the show has ever had, imho. I hope they at least keep that. Change everything else. The version of the theme song used in season 4 and the 2009 specials is the best so far. And if they want to still show the TARDIS in the Time Vortex, make it move faster and look more like it's flying through space rather than casually bopping around inside a storm.

I haven't seen the season 7 intro yet, but if all that has changed is that it looks like it has Instagram filters on the Vortex then no thank you. :P

I'll reserve judgement until I see it in the series. There are also going to be a new theme and a new intro.

More images coming later but:
