just seeing this fresh off of DA got me hype for the remake all over again. i forgot how shamelessly they did reno and rude in the movie. time to bring them back how we all originally knew them!

It's a beautiful piece of art, especially the body, but the face (which is very well executed) is not the Reno I know and love. I just can't get on board with grown men looking like ten year old girls. Reno would be a whole lot harder and more beat-up and altogether seedier than that.

I saw that Sakimichan art on DA and there's some of her stuff I quite like, but wasn't sure if I liked his face in this picture, he looks so....pretty. Doesn't strike me as Reno, though the rest of it's nice.

yea i did feel it didn't have the real style of reno (reno would never do a thing like that .-.). but the simple fact of seeing him again made suddenly realize how good he (and rude) actually were in the game. now others can see that in them, instead of always seeing them in the complete opposite way in the movie.

Young male characters in FFVII are meant to be bishounen-ish, most of the time...

That said, Reno did strike me as looking a bit more gruff... just a bit, though.

I know this because I watch her. I like some of her stuff, but she also tends to make the women with big boobs/tiny waists/big asses too, so moderately unrealistic much of the time. But she is a good artist.

I keep an eye out for SakimiChan too, they do a lot of great realistic anime characters work and some of the OC commissions are amazing.

I'm oddly pleased that Tifa's seems to be the least suggestive among them. This kind of art isn't really my thing but I like the quality of the work and the way she did Vincent's eyes.
