I haven't got everything in FF7 yet, but I think I'm gonna watch ACC today. I'll pause it throughout and give my immediate impressions like I did with FF7, and on a later data I'll watch it all the way through, uninterrupted.

But when I DO get everything, I'll come back to this thread and spill all my thoughts on this game; favourite moments, favourite areas, characters, music, all that jazz. Prepare for some major gushing.

Cloud finding out his true past, that entire part in the lifestream with Tifa, sealed it for me. That was a genuine 10/10 segment.
Are you me? lol that was also the exact moment FF7 became my favorite game and while I was spoiled on what happens to Aerith like a lot of people are these days, I’m so happy I didn’t get spoiled on that

It’s funny because I didn’t grow up caring much at all for Final Fantasy and I generally don’t even like turned-based RPGs but something about this game man...

I don’t personally give 10/10s on principle because even my favorite games have things that I would change but boy does this game come close for me

It's hard for me to pick one single favorite but FFVII is up there. Along with the Remake lol :monster:
I’m curious, in your mind do you think of the OG and remake as separate experiences? Because since I experienced them both so close to one another it all kinda blends together as one thing for me, so getting caught up with all the material feels like following just one long-running TV show lol

Listen closely, there is meaning in my words.

They're certainly separate experiences. However, they're also connected, similar and enjoyable in their own unique contexts. They're appetizing and enjoyable with their own unique and equisite flavors :monster:

Neither! I was, and still am, primarily into fighting and action games. That's my forte. But I think FF7 is going to change that. I'm absolutely gonna check out more of the series.
Yeah my first FF was when Dissidia duodecim came out on PSP, which was more of a fighting game. It was like a crossover with the characters of the main FF games so it was kinda like a primer on the whole franchise.

Cloud, Sephiroth & Tifa were the only characters I recognized so I used them a lot (and also Tifa’s hot, let’s be honest) but I knew nothing about their stories at the time...I actually assumed Cloud was just a boring moody angsty edgelord and I could not be more happy to have my expectations completely flipped around.

Woah, you used Sephiroth?!!1? (just kidding :D)
Yeah, Cloud is great to play as, as is Tifa. My favourite to has to be either Cloud or Cid, but the entire group is great.
Following the shock of Aerith's death, I thought to myself, "fuck, I lost my best healer!"

He goes from, like you said, a "moody angst edgelord" with a little bit of a superiority complex as he claims he's EX-SOLDIER, into someone fighting for their sanity, has fake memories, is going up against meteoric odds (pun entirely intended) and who gets woozy in vehicles. He wanted to become a SOLDIER to impress his crush, I mean, c'mon.

Should I use a guide on how to get a gold chocobo or is that frowned upon?

Tifa's theme is better because it doesn't make me ugly cry when hearing it.
Aerith's theme definitely gives people who know a lump in the throat
Aeriths' theme doesn't do much for me in that regard, but I can't even think about "the price of freedom" let alone hear more than 2 notes of it without breaking down into tears, not even exaggerating, I just tried it again and it still works, I instantly start sobbing.

Yeah same, people always focus on Aerith dying as the massive twist or the most pivotal moment in FFVII but IMO that's nothing compared to the lifestream.

When it comes to defining FFVII moments imo its:
1: Nibleheim (but that happens before the game).
2: Lifestream sequence
3: Aeriths death (maybe)

I'm gonna use the w-item glitch to farm the pot enemies. Apparently that gives you great everything, lol.

Can I request some good materia combinations? I'm aware of final attack and how to get it, and that by pairing it with Phoenix you can revive your entire party.

Just wanna make sure I face the Weapons at least somewhat prepared

You will need the underwater materia for emerald. It also has an attack that does damage based on the number of materia you have equipped, so less it better.
