I just noticed this

But a few days later, she died...
But when I saw her, she looked fine.

What an ODD thing to say, as if dying from smoke inhalation/being burned alive/possibly stabbed would have some sort of indicator. Like she'd be giving off smoke or something. Cloud is a moron.

Anyway permit me to interpret his mothers thoughts:

Cloud's Mom
My, how you've grown.
I'll bet the girls never leave you alone. You're not gay are you?

Cloud
...Not really.
Cloud's Mom
...I'm worried about you. I'm worried you might be gay.
There are a lot of temptations in the city... Like Mukki and transvestite gyms.
I'd feel a lot better if you just settled down and had a nice girlfriend. A girlfriend who was definitely a girl, and not a man or anything.

Yup, Cloud's mom is a homophobic bigot alright. :monster:

I always read it as if it were "A few days later, she was dead. None of us saw it coming."

As for the "older girlfriend" discussion, I always thought it was Real!Cloud using the appearance of an "older girl" to "take care of him" to jog the memory of that conversation, to use as ammo against Jenoviroth's deception. (this kind of thing is exactly what prevented Cloud from becoming a black-cloak flunkie) (instead forcing Jenoviroth to just use him as a regular-type pawn only half under their spell)

The 'older girl' struck me immediately as a narrative nod to Aeris, even playing it as a 12 year old. Even though we all know it didn't work out, from a narrative sense, the player doesn't yet. What else could it be?

Aerith is only two years older than Tifa, though. Talk about a distinction without a difference. It would be something else if Aerith was a 35 year-old cougar. Something else indeed.

It depends, mostly because of their young ages to begin with. Is a 33 year old much different than a 35 year old? Not really. Are 19 year olds much different than 21 year olds? Usually at least noticeably so, even though they're still pretty young regardless.

In my headcanon, Azul is from Icicle Village. At the very least he should hail from a town on the northern continent.

The cold, blue colors he wears looks to me like something that the people of Icicle Village would wear.
Azul-Artwork.jpg

His backstory would be a recycled one: Violence-ridden youth, killed to survive, then ran off to Costa del Sol (the total opposite of the cold north) and found a place where his violent urges could be sated.

Although Vincent Valentine is a wanderer, he is also very good at being still. His ability to sleep in a coffin for decades translates to his post-OG persona as well. He can stand still in a room, on the same spot, for hours in a type of meditative state. He would do this in public gatherings as well, if he wasn't aware that it makes people uncomfortable when they can't tell if Vincent is a statue or not.

That's a headcanon I just thought of. :P

I have been getting into Berserk for the past few weeks and for some reason I am really interested in this really dark and grim world. And most of all I found out that Griffith and Sephiroth share the same Japanese voice actor. So, here is my new headcannon theory is the fact that Sephiroth is the reincarnation of Griffith.

Or Jenova was an Apostle from the Berserk universe.

In my headcanon Zack was Aeris' sex slave. Aeris was a maniplative succubus . Sephiroth was a misunderstood victim not in control of his actions. He was posessed by the freaky-ass alien jenova when he burned down nibelheim , killed Aeris and tried to summon meteor.

My headcanon is 'A' girl is actually Tseng's ghost from ffvii. He disguised himself as a girl and trolling every thread because he loves Aerith but Aerith didn't return his feelings. He tries to flirt with Elena but Elena is in loves with Reno. And that's my headcanon.

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN
All four dates happened in the Gold Saucer, which means Cloud got a kiss from Yuffie.

Yuffie mentally kicks herself in embarrassment every time she remembers, but only because of Cloud's awkward (lack of) response.

Sephiroth used to have a picture of Professor Gast before he turned evil. He kept it hidden so no one could find it.

President Shinra might have been quite attractive before he'd become unrecognizably old and decrepit.

His three known sons share a lot of physical similarities (lampshaded in both Crisis Core and Lateral Biography, sometimes accompanied by the word "handsome"), and since they were all born of different women, their father likely resembled them at a time. This came to mind after I took Lazard's glasses off while I was messing around in XNALARA Posing Studio. He looked exactly like Rufus, except with higher cheekbones and a pointier chin.

Another reason why the President-Shinra-is-Cloud's-father theory is implausible - Cloud looks nothing like the other Shinras.

Going back to the idea of Jenova originally being a corrupt goddess, I think she still had blue skin in her goddess form even before she was corrupted.

With that I believe the planet and Jenova actually share the same orange and blue morality thus making them not so different from each other.

^^It is canon that Jenova took the forms of the dead Cetra, so her current form is probably along the lines of "Cetra + whatever mutations Jenova causes". We never do get to see her real form...

I don't think she *has* a real form, which is twenty kinds of terrifying.

Or Jenova was her own planet's version of Omega until she became eventually corrupted into the being she is today.

I wonder how many planets she managed to wipe out before the Cetra defeated her.

:scared:

Now if one thinks about that its kind of horrifying how much destruction she might have caused in the universe. I have a feeling she would have given Sephiroth a run for his money at her full prime.

I've considered before that she could have been her own planet's version of Omega. She arrives on a meteor/planetary debris, like the Phantom homeworld's Gaia in The Spirits Within -- and then she starts assimilating every living thing she encounters?

Sounds a lot like what happened in both The Spirits Within and FFIX, as well as the circumstances under which Omega takes form.

I mean, really, what would Omega do after going off into space but land on another planet and start trying to assimilate it? Jenova and the planet may not be all that different.

Yeah, and it would make Jenova less of an out of context villain and give her a good explanation for what she is. Plus I always kind of suspected that the planet and Jenova operated on a similar orange and blue morality. It now puts the planet into a more grayer light than before if one thinks about it because it can just become like Jenova if it was given the chance. Jenova and the planet only cares for their own self being and don't care what they do in order to survive. If Jenova could talk I have a feeling she would deliver a good Hannibal Lecture about how she and the planet are alike.

In my head canon, she has destroyed hundreds of worlds. My headcanon lore for Jenova is vast, it would take, well, that whole novel I wrote to say it all. But my basic idea is this:

Because Cetra are caregivers born from the Planet, they cannot (or refuse to) use destructive magic. Thus, seal evil is their only defense against Jenova. Jenova's species (interstellar eldritch horrors who eat Lifestream) use this to their advantage, biding their time, being immortal and all. Eventually the seal is broken and they continue.

What was different this time? Humans. The evolution of humans on the Planet was destructive in every way, except that they were the only thing willing/able to destroy Jenova.

The question as to whether humanity survived at the end comes down to what you think Holy would do: would it forgive the sins of the Planet's errant children if those sins actually directly led to its salvation? Or would the Planet rather die than breed that kind of destruction?

According to canon, the Planet is a merciful god.

Edit: actually it wouldn't surprise me if the creation of humans was a kind of evolutionary imperative similar to the creation of Weapon. In both cases, the Planet fucked up and created monsters.
